Rob Simonsen has been tapped to score the upcoming drama Burnt. The film is directed by John Wells (August: Osage County, The Company Men) and stars Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Bruhl, Matthew Rhys, Lily James, Alicia Vikander, Sam Keeley, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. The movie, which was originally entitled Adam Jones, follows a chef in Paris who only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste and wants to obtain the Michelin three-star rating. Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke, The Hundred-Foot Journey) has written the screenplay based on a story by Michael Kalesniko (Private Parts).

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the romantic drama The Age of Adaline directed by Lee Toland Krieger and starring Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn. The film’s original music is composed by Rob Simonsen (Foxcatcher, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the end credits song Start Again. Stephan Altman and Mark Foster, from Foster the People, have composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the movie’s score earlier this week. Rob Simonsen Scoring Roland Emmerich’s ‘Stonewall’
Rob Simonsen has composed the music for the upcoming drama Stonewall. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Stargate, 2012, The Patriot) and stars Jeremy Irvine, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ron Perlman, Jonny Beauchamp, Joey King, Caleb Landry Jones, Karl Glusman, Vlademir Alexis, and Alexandre Nachi. The movie follows a young man in New York caught up during the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event widely considered the starting point for the modern gay civil rights movement. Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sister, The Slap) has written the screenplay. Emmerich is also producing the Centropolis Entertainment production with Michael Fossat, Marc Frydman (The Contender, Flyboys, Straw Dogs) and Carsten Lorenz.
‘The Age of Adaline’ Score Album Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a score album for the romantic drama The Age of Adaline. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (Foxcatcher, (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now, The Way Way Back), including the original song Start Again by Simonsen and Faux Fix, featuring Elena Tonra. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 21, 2015 and physically on May 12. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Audio clips are available below. The label will also release a separate album featuring the songs from the movie. J. Mills Goodloe (The Best of Me, Pride) and Salvador Paskowitz have written the screenplay. Sidney Kimmel (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Place Beyond the Pines, Lars and the Real Girl), Tom Rosenberg & Gary Lucchesi (Million Dollar Baby, Underworld, Crank) are producing the Sidney Kimmel and Lakeshore Entertainment production.

The film’s original music is composed by the electronic music duo Empire of the Sun. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring music from the duo, as well as songs by Eels, Natural Child, Lissie, Firefall, Franz Ferdinand, Jake Bugg, The Dahls and more. ‘Foxcatcher’ Soundtrack Details
Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Foxcatcher. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (The Spectacular Now, The Way Way Back, (500) Days of Summer), as well as additional music composed by West Dylan Thordson and Academy Award winner Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote). Also included are the songs from the film by Bob Dylan and This Will Destroy You, as well as Arvo Pärt’s Für Alina. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Foxcatcher is directed by Bennett Miller and stars Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, Vanessa Redgrave, Sienna Miller, Anthony Michael Hall, Guy Boyd and Dave “Doc” Bennett.
‘Wish I Was Here’ Score Album Released
Miles of Lions Records has released a score album for Zach Braff’s indie dramedy Wish I Was Here. The soundtrack features the film’s original score composed by Rob Simonsen (The Spectacular Now, (500) Days of Summer, The Way Way Back). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Also watch a video featuring Simonsen performing his theme from the score on the piano below. Columbia Records has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the film. Wish I Was Here stars Zach Braff, Kate Hudson, Joey King, Jim Parsons, Ashley Green, Mandy Patinkin and Josh Gad. The Kickstarter-funded film written and directed by Braff follows a thirtysomething man who finds himself at major crossroads, which forces him to examine his life, his career, and his family.
Rob Simonsen to Score ‘Master Cleanse’
Director Bobby Miller announced on Twitter that Rob Simonsen is scoring the upcoming horror comedy Master Cleanse. The film is written and directed by Miller and stars Johnny Galecki, Anna Friel, Oliver Platt and Anjelica Huston. The movie follows a man who decides to restart his life, joining a spiritual retreat designed to cleanse negative toxins from his body. Jordan Horowitz (The Kids Are All Right, Save the Date) is producing the project for Gilbert Films, alongside Aaron L. Gilbert (A Single Shot, Trust Me) for Bron Studios and Galecki for Alcide Bava Pictures. Master Cleanse is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2015.

Opening in most theaters is the animated sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue directed by Bobs Gannaway and featuring the voices of Dane Cook, Julie Bowen, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Danny Mann, Teri Hatcher and Ed Harris. Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Brother Bear, Speed) who previously scored last year’s original film has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the original song Still I Fly performed by Spencer Lee and three songs by Brad Paisley.
