The film marks the fiction directorial debut of documentarian Roger Ross Williams (Life, Animated, God Loves Uganda) and stars Gael García Bernal, Roberta Colindrez, Joaquín Cosío, Perla De La Rosa and Raúl Castillo. The movie tells the real-life story of Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso, who rises to international stardom after he creates the character Cassandro, the “Liberace of Lucha Libre.”

‘Emancipation’ Soundtrack Album Details
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the historical drama Emancipation. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Wonder, The Affair, Fences, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 9 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Emancipation is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Will Smith, Ben Foster, Charmaine Bingwa, Gilbert Owuor, Mustafa Shakir, Steven Ogg and Grant Harvey. The movie is inspired by the 1863 photos of “Whipped Peter” and tells the story of a man who escapes from slavery, relying on his wits, unwavering faith and love for his family to evade cold-blooded hunters and the unforgiving swamps of Louisiana on his quest for freedom.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress/producer Eva Longoria and stars Jesse Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Emilio Rivera, Dennis Haysbert, Tony Shalhoub, Pepe Serna, Matt Walsh, Bobby Soto, Jimmy Gonzales and Brice Gonzalez. The movie tells the true story of Richard Montanez, the Frito Lay janitor who took inspiration from his Mexican American heritage to create the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos snack.

The show is developed by David Hollander (Personal Effects) and stars Jon Bernthal, Gretchen Mol, Rosie O’Donnell, Lizzie Brocheré, Gabriel LaBelle and Leland Orser. The 8-part drama follows Julian Kaye, a present-day reimagining of Paul Schrader’s 1980 classic (scored by Giorgio Moroder), after his wrongful conviction release from prison as he navigates his complicated relationships with his former lover, his troubled mother, and the people who betrayed him.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the drama A Journal for Jordan. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Wonder, Fences, The Affair, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, The Door in the Floor, Enough Said). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 17 and will be available to stream/download here. A Journal for Jordan is directed by Denzel Washington and stars Michael B. Jordan, Chanté Adams and Jalon Christian. The movie tells the true story of Sergeant Charles Monroe King, a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal of advice and love for his infant son.
