La-La Land Records has announced a new 4-CD soundtrack collection for the sci-fi series Star Trek: Enterprise starring Scott Bakula, John Billingsley and Jolene Blalock. The album features selections from the show’s original music written by composers Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek: Generations Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, CSI: Miami), Jay Chattaway (Star Trek: Voyager), David Bell (Murder, She Wrote), Paul Baillargeon (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Velton Ray Bunch (Magnum, P.I., Quantum Leap), Mark McKenzie (The Greatest Miracle), John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, The Following) and Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World). Also included is the series’ main titles song from the first season Where My Heart Will Take Me written by Diane Warren and performed by Russell Watson.

Weekly TV Music Roundup (September 28, 2014)
Premiering on Tuesday, September 30, on ABC is the new comedy Manhattan Love Story created by Jeff Lowell (John Tucker Must Die) and starring Analeigh Tipton, Jake McDorman, Nicolas Wright, Jade Catta-Preta, Chloe Wepper and Kurt Fuller. The show’s original music is composed by Alec Puro (The Fosters, The Art of Getting By, The First Time). Also premiering on Tuesday on ABC is the new comedy Selfie created by Emily Kapnek and starring Karen Gillan, John Cho, Tim Peper, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Allyn Rachel and David Harewood. Jared Faber (Suborgatory, As Told by Ginger) is composing the show’s original music. Selfie follows a self-obsessed twentysomething who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. John Frizzell Scoring CBS Drama ‘Stalker’
John Frizzell is composing the music for the new CBS drama Stalker. The show is created by Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek, I Know What You Did Last Summer) and stars Maggie Q, Dylan McDermott, Victor Rasuk and Mariana Klaveno. The psychological thriller follows two detectives who investigate stalking incidents – including voyeurism, cyber harassment and romantic fixation – for the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD. Williamson is executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production. Frizzell has previously collaborated with Williamson on his directorial debut Teaching Mrs. Tingle starring Helen Mirren, as well as on the TV shows The Secret Circle and Fox’s The Following, which will return for a third season in early 2015.

Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the horror reboot Evil Dead directed by Fede Alvarez and starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. The film’s music is written by Spanish composer Roque Banos (The Machinist, Sexy Beast). La-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally on April 9. A physical release featuring more than 25 minutes of additional music is set to be released on May 7. The full album details will be posted on this website within the next couple of days. Also opening wide is the Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park 3D based on the novel by Michael Crichton and starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Attenborough. The movie’s music is composed and conducted by John Williams. Geffen Records has released a 20th Anniversary soundtrack edition featuring the content of the original album, as well as four previously unreleased tracks. The film’s music is composed by John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Legion, The Roommate). No soundtrack album has been announced at this point. The movie is set immediately after the original film and follows a young woman who travels to Texas to collect an inheritance that includes Leatherface. John Frizzell to Score Fox’s ‘The Following’
John Frizzell has signed on to score the upcoming Fox drama The Following. The show is created by Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek) and stars Kevin Bacon as an ex-FBI agent who is recruited to recapture an escaped serial killer. James Purefoy, Jeananne Goossen, Maggie Grace, Natalie Zea, Adan Canto, Nico Tortorella and Shawn Ashmore are co-starring. Marcos Siega (Dexter, The Vampire Diaries) is executive producing the project with Williams and also directed the pilot. Frizzell has previously collaborated with Williamson on his feature directorial debut Teaching Mrs. Tingle starring Katie Holmes & Helen Mirren and last season’s CW drama The Secret Circle.
John Frizzell to Score ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’
John Frizzell has signed on to score Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. The latest reimagining of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic is directed by John Luessenhop (Takers, Lockdown) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Thom Barry, Dan Yaeger and Trey Songz. The movie is reportedly set immediately after the original film and follows a young woman who travels to Texas to collect an inheritance that includes Leatherface. The project’s script is written by Adam Marcus (Jason Goes to Hell: Final Friday) and Debra Sullivan. Carl Mazzocone (Repo! The Genetic Opera, Boxing Helena) is producing and Avi Lerner & Mark Burger are among the executive producers of the Nu Image Films production. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is scheduled to be released on January 4, 2013 by Lionsgate.
John Frizzell Scoring ‘The Loft’
John Frizzell is currently finishing up work on the upcoming thriller The Loft. The film directed by Erik Van Looy is an English language remake of his 2008 Belgian hit film Loft. The remake stars Karl Urban, James Marsden, Eric Stonestreet, Wentworth Miller, Rachael Taylor, Isabel Lucas and Rhona Mitra. The movie follows five married friends who share a loft for their extramarital affairs. When the body of an unknown woman is found in the property, they begin to suspect each other of murder. Wesley Strick (A Nightmare on Elm Street) adapted the script from the original version. Steve Golin (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Babel), Paul Green, Matt DeRoss and Adam Shulman are producing for Anonymous Content, alongside Hilde De Laere who produced the original film and an earlier remake, both of which were scored by Wolfram de Marco.

Among the new shows on the network is the fantasy teen drama The Secret Circle produced by Kevin Williamson (Scream, The Vampire Diaries) and starring Brittany Robertson, Thomas Dekker, Shelley Hennig, Phoebe Tonkin, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Louis Hunter, Natasha Henstridge and Ashley Crow. The composer of the show is John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space) who has worked with Williamson before on the writer’s directorial debut Teaching Mrs. Tingle. The Secret Cirlce has received a full season order and currently airs every Thursday night on the CW.
