A number of major film/TV/video game composers will be participating at the 15th Annual Fans of Film Music event, which will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Silent Zoo Studios in Glendale, CA. This year’s panelists include John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner) who recently scored Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Election, Up in the Air) whose recent projects include Kristin Scott Thomas’ North Star and David Fleming (The Last of Us, Damsel) who recently received his first two Emmy Award nominations for the Prime Video series Mr. & Mrs. Smith and the Disney+ documentary Jim Henson: Idea Man.

David Fleming Scoring Donald Glover’s ‘Bando Stone & The New World’
David Fleming (The Last of Us, Damsel, Blue Planet II, Hillbilly Elegy, The Unforgivable, The Night Logan Woke Up, Jim Henson Idea Man) is scoring the upcoming sci-fi feature Bando Stone & The New World. The film is directed by Donald Glover (Atlanta) and stars Glover himself, Jessica Allain and Legend. No plot details have been announced yet for the movie, which will accompanied by a new album/soundtrack from Glover as Childish Gambino. Evi Wilder wrote the screenplay.
‘Jim Henson Idea Man’ Soundtrack Album Details
Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the documentary Jim Henson Idea Man. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Fleming (The Last of Us, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Hillbilly Elegy, Damsel, The Unforgivable, Blue Planet II, The Night Logan Woke Up). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 31 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the post-apocalyptic action adventure Furiosa: A Mad Max Story co-written and directed by George Miller and starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke and Alyla Browne. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road, Sonic the Hedgehog, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Also opening wide is the animated feature The Garfield Movie directed by Mark Dindal and starring Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein and Bowen Yang. John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2, The Jungle Book) has composed the film’s original score. Michael Hodges serves as the project’s executive music producer and co-wrote most of the original songs. Republic/ASG Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and three tracks of Debney’s score last week. David Fleming (The Last of Us, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Unforgivable, Damsel, Blue Planet II, Hillbilly Elegy, The Night Logan Woke Up) has composed the original score for the upcoming Disney+ original documentary Jim Henson Idea Man. The film is directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind) and explores the creative visionary’s mind, from his early years puppeteering on local television to the worldwide success of Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and beyond. The movie features new interviews with Henson’s closest collaborators and children, as well as never-before-seen materials from his personal archives.

Bear McCreary (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has composed the theme(s) for the project and his Sparks & Shadows team has composed the original score. ‘Damsel’ Soundtrack Album Details
Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s original film Damsel. The album features the movie’s original music composed by David Fleming (The Last of Us, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Hillbilly Elegy, Blue Planet II, The Unforgivable, The Perfect Guy). Also included is Lykke Li’s cover of Ring of Fire, which is already out now as a digital single. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 5 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Damsel is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Ray Winstone, Robin Wright, Nick Robinson, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Angela Bassett. The fantasy adventure tells the story of a dutiful damsel who agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt.
David Fleming to Score Barry Levinson’s ‘Alto Knights’
David Fleming (The Last of Us, The Unforgivable, Blue Planet II, Hillbilly Elegy, The Night Logan Woke Up, The Perfect Guy) has been tapped to score the upcoming gangster drama Alto Knights. The film is directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning, Vietnam) and stars Robert De Niro, Debra Messing, Kathrine Narducci and Cosmo Jarvis. The movie centers on two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, and explores how their separate paths to power place them on a deadly collision course.
Soundtrack Album for Prime Video’s ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ TV Series to Be Released
Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the Prime Video original series Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by David Fleming (The Last of Us, The Unforgivable, Damsel, Hillbilly Elegy, Blue Planet II, The Perfect Guy). Mr. & Mrs. Smith is created by Donald Glover & Francesca Sloane inspired by Doug Liman’s 2005 feature and stars Glover himself and Maya Erskine, as well as guest actors including Paul Dano, John Turturro,Michaela Coel, Parker Posey, Sharon Horgan, Wagner Moura and Ron Perlman. The spy comedy follows two lonely strangers who have given up their lives and identities to be thrown together as partners – both in espionage and in marriage.

Premiering on Wednesday, January 31, is the FX limited series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans developed by Jon Robin Baitz and starring Tom Hollander, Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Calista Flockhart, Chloë Sevigny, Demi Moore, Treat Williams, Molly Ringwald, Joe Mantello and Russell Tovey. The show’s original score is composed by Julia Newman (At the Gates) and Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, American Beauty, 1917) has contributed the main title theme. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music this coming week.
