Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been tapped to score the upcoming indie drama The Ticket. The film is directed by Ida Fluk and stars Dan Stevens, Malin Akerman, Kerry Bishe and Oliver Platt. The movie follows a blind man who regains his vision only to be engulfed in selfishness, blinded by his obsession for the superficial. Fluk has also co-written the script with Sharon Mashishi. Oren Moverman (Rampart, The Messenger) is producing the project with Lawrence Inglee for Blackbird Films, alongside Bill Walton & Matt Malek for Rush River Entertainment. Dale Brown, Nick Byasse and Katie Heidy are executive producing.

Saunder Jurriaans & Danny Bensi to Score ‘The Driftless Area’
Saunder Jurriaans and Danny Bensi have been tapped to score the upcoming indie romantic comedy drama The Driftless Area. The film is directed by Zachary Sluser and stars Zooey Deschanel, Anton Yelchin, John Hawkes, Aubrey Plaza, Frank Langella, Ciaran Hinds and Alia Shawkat. The movie is based on a novel by Tom Drury and centers on the relationship between a bartender who returns to his hometown after the death of his parents and a mysterious woman. Sluser and Drury have co-written the screenplay. Keith Kjarval (Rudderless, Trust Me) is producing the project for Unified Pictures, alongside Aaron L. Gilbert (A Single Shot, Welcome to Me) for Bron Studios.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller Annabelle directed by John Leonetti, produced by James Wan and starring Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Tony Amendola, Eric Ladin and Brian Howe. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Dark Skies). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the thriller Gone Girl directed by David Fincher and starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Carrie Coon and David Clennon. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who previously scored Fincher’s The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo have composed the film’s original music. ‘The One I Love’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy drama The One I Love. The album features the film’s original music composed by Saunder Jurriaans and Danny Bensi (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Enemy, Magic Magic). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 7, 2014 and physically on November 4. To pre-order the album, visit Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. The One I Love is directed by Charlie McDowell and stars Mark Duplass, Elizabeth Moss and Ted Danson. The movie follows a couple who, at the brink of separation, escape to a beautiful vacation house for a weekend getaway in an attempt to save their marriage. The dramedy premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was released in select theaters and on VOD last month by the Weinstein Company’s Radius label.

Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans to Score ‘Last Days in the Desert’
Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been hired to score the upcoming indie drama Last Days in the Desert. The film is written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia and stars Ewan McGregor, Tye Sheridan, Ciaran Hinds and Ayelet Zurer. The movie follows a holy man and a demon on a journey through the desert who encounters a family struggling to survive, which forces him to confront his own fate. Julie Lynn (The Jane Austen Book Club, Albert Nobbs) and Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence) are producing the Mockingbird Pictures and Division Films production with Wicks Walker. Garcia previously collaborated with composers Edward Shearmur (Mother and Child, Passengers) and Brian Byrne (Albert Nobbs) on his previous features.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the action movie Need for Speed directed by Scott Waugh and starring Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Scott Mescudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Michael Keaton, Rami Malek, Dakota Johnson and Harrison Gilbertson. Also opening wide is the comedy Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club written, directed and produced by Perry who also stars in the film alongside Nia Long, Amy Smart, Cocoa Brown, Terry Crews, William Levy and Wendi McLendon-Covey. Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, The Shipping News, Sinister) who previously scored Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas for the filmmaker has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack album. The comedy follows a group of single mothers from different walks of life bond who create a support group after an incident at their children’s school. ‘Enemy’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Denis Villeneuve’s indie thriller Enemy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Martha Marcy May Marlene). The soundtrack will be released on March 11, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Enemy directed by Villeneuve (Prisoners) is based on Jose Saramago’s novel The Double and stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a history professor who spots his double in a bit role in a movie and decides to track him down – leading to their lives becoming irrevocably intertwined. Melanie Laurent and Sarah Gadon are co-starring. The movie premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and was picked up by A24 Films for a domestic release on March 14.

Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have taken over scoring duties on the indie drama The One I Love. The film is directed by Charlie McDowell and stars Mark Duplass, Elisabeth Moss and Ted Danson. The movie follows a married couple on the brink of separation who – at the urging of their therapist – decide to escape to a beautiful vacation house for a weekend getaway in an attempt to salvage what’s left of their relationship. Justin Lader has written the screenplay and Mel Eslyn (My Sister’s Sister, Touchy Feely) is producing the project. Mark & Jay Duplass (Cyrus, Jeff Who Lives at Home) are executive producing with McDowell and Lader.
