the-one-i-loveDanny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have taken over scoring duties on the indie drama The One I Love. The film is directed by Charlie McDowell and stars Mark Duplass, Elisabeth Moss and Ted Danson. The movie follows a married couple on the brink of separation who – at the urging of their therapist – decide to escape to a beautiful vacation house for a weekend getaway in an attempt to salvage what’s left of their relationship. Justin Lader has written the screenplay and Mel Eslyn (My Sister’s Sister, Touchy Feely) is producing the project. Mark & Jay Duplass (Cyrus, Jeff Who Lives at Home) are executive producing with McDowell and Lader. Alec Puro has previously been announced as the composer of the film. The One I Love is set to premiere later this month at the Sundance Film Festival.

The composers whose previous film scoring credits include Martha Marcy May Marlene and Magic Magic have also scored the indie romantic comedy 5 to 7. The film is written and directed by Victor Levin (Mad Men, Mad About You) and stars Anton Yelchin, Glenn Close, Frank Langella, Berenice Marlohe, Lambert Wilson and Olivia Thirlby. The movie follows an aspiring novelist who has a cinq-a-sept affair with the beautiful wife of a French diplomat. Sam Englebardt & William D. Johnson (ParanoiaByzantium) are producing the Demarest Films and Mockingbird Pictures production with Bonnie Curtis (Minority ReportA.I. Artificial Intelligence) and Julie Lynn (Albert Nobbs, Passengers). 5 to 7 is expected to premiere in 2014.

As previously reported, Bensi and Jurriaans have also composed the music for Denis Villeneuve’s indie thriller Enemy starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Since our last update, the movie has been picked up by A24 Films for domestic distribution and is scheduled to be released on March 14, 2014.
