Opening nationwide this weekend is the fantasy adventure Pan directed by Joe Wright and starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Adeel Akhtar and Levi Miller. The film’s original music is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Bolt, Shrek, Chicken Run). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie performed by the cast, and two songs by Lily Allen. Opening in New York and Los Angeles before expanding nationwide on October 23 is the biographical drama Steve Jobs directed by Danny Boyle, written by Aaron Sorkin and starring Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston and Michael Stuhlbarg. Daniel Pemberton (The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Counselor) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs featured in the movie by The Libertines, Bob Dylan and The Maccabees. ‘Amy’ Soundtrack Announced

Island Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Amy. The album features the songs from the movie by the film’s subject Amy Winehouse, including live versions of such tracks as Rehab, Valerie, What It Is About Men, We’re Still Friends & more. Also included is the movie’s original score composed by Antonio Pinto (Senna, City of God, Lord of War, McFarland, USA). The soundtrack will be released on October 30, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Amy is directed by Asif Kapadia and chronicles the British singer’s rise to fame before her untimely death at age 27 of alcohol poisoning.

The film’s original music is composed by Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, The Smurfs, If I Stay, Beverly Hills Chihuahua). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie by artists including including The Turtles, The Kinks, The Who, Donovan and The Spencer Davis Group. ‘Self/Less’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Self/Less. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, McFarland, USA, The Host, Snitch) and Dudu Aram. The soundtrack will be released on July 24, 2015. Self/Less is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Ryan Reynolds, Natalie Martinez, Matthew Goode, Victor Garber, Derek Luke, Michelle Dockery and Ben Kingsley. The movie follows a wealthy man dying from cancer who undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man and starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin and the organization that will kill to protect its cause.

Two new movies opened nationwide this past Wednesday:

Opening in most theaters this week is the sci-fi action adventure Terminator Genisys directed by Alan Taylor and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-Hun Lee and JK Simmons. The film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Home, Penguins of Madagascar). Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Asif Kapadia’s ‘Amy’ to Feature Music by Antonio Pinto

Antonio Pinto has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Amy. The film is directed by Asif Kapadia (The Warrior, Far North, The Return) and chronicles British singer Amy Winehouse’s rise to fame with such hits like Rehab and Valerie before her untimely death at age 27 of alcohol poisoning. The movie features unseen archival footage and unheard tracks by Winehouse. James Gay-Rees (Exit Through the Gift Shop, The Quiet Ones) is producing the project for On The Corner Films. Pinto has previously collaborated with Kapadia on the documentaries Senna and the short The Odyssey.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the comedy sequel Hot Tub Time Machine 2 directed by Steve Pink and starring Rob Corddry, Craig Robinsoin, Clark Duke, Adam Scott and Gillian Jacobs. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) who previously scored the first part in the series. No soundtrack album has been announced. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 follows Lou, Nick and Jacob who inadvertently land in the future with Adam Jr. and have to alter the future in order to save the past. Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the sports drama McFarland, USA. The album features the film’s original score composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, The Host, Snitch). Also included is the original end title track Juntos (Together) performed by Grammy-winning singer Juanes, which is already available to download as a single. The soundtrack will be released on February 17, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. McFarland, USA is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider) and stars Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Morgan Saylor, Martha Higareda, Michael Aguero, Sergio Avelar, Hector Duran, Rafael Martinez, Johnny Ortiz and Carlos Pratts. The movie follows the novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California, as they build a cross-country team under the direction of a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school.

Antonio Pinto and Dudu Aram have been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi thriller Selfless. The film is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Matthew Goode, Natalie Martinez, Victor Garber and Derek Luke. The movie stars a terminally ill billionaire who buys a chance for eternal life through an experimental underground medical procedure, which transfers his consciousness into the cadaver of a younger man. Alex and David Pastor (Carriers, The Last Days) have written the screenplay. Ram Bergman (Looper, Don Jon, Brick) is producing the project with Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern and Peter Schlessel.

Antonio Pinto to Score Niki Caro’s ‘McFarland’

Antonio Pinto is composing the music for the upcoming sports drama McFarland. The film is directed by Niki Caro and stars Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Morgan Saylor and Carlos Pratts. The movie is set in the 1980s and tells the true story of a high school coach who comes to the predominantly Latino town of McFarland, Calif. and creates a high school track team that becomes a championship-winning dynasty. Mark Ciardi & Gordon Gray (Miracle, The Rookie, Million Dollar Arm) are producing the project for Mayhem Pictures. William Broyles Jr. (Apollo 13, Planet of the Apes, Cast Away) has written the final version of the script based on a previous version by Grant Thompson.
