Antonio Pinto is scoring the upcoming dramatic thriller Trash. The film is directed by Stephen Daldry and stars Rooney Mara, Martin Sheen, Wagner Moura, Selton Mello, Rickson Tevez, Eduardo Luis and Gabriel Weinstein. The movie is set in the Third World and tells the story of three poverty-stricken boys who discover a wallet with a treasure map inside in a city dump. Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Notting Hill) has written the screenplay based on Andy Mulligan’s 2010 novel. Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Rush, Les Miserables) are producing the project for Working Title, alongside Kris Thykier (Kick-Ass, The Debt) for PeaPie Films.

Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Already in theaters since yesterday is the action sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Dwayne Johnson, D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis. The film’s score is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). Varese Sarabande Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music digitally. ‘The Host’ Soundtrack Announced
Interscope Records will release a soundtrack album for the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel The Host. The album features songs by Imagine Dragons, Hudson Taylor, Skylar Grey, Ellie Goulding, Hudson Taylor, Duologue, Jamie N Commons, Die Mason Die, Active Child and X Ambassadors. Also included is one track from the film’s score composed by Antonio Pinto. The Host – Choose to Listen will be released digitally on March 26, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, a different soundtrack album featuring Pinto’s score will be released overseas by Metropolis Movie Music and is now available as an import on Amazon. Metropolis Movie Music will release the official soundtrack album for Andrew Niccol’s sci-fi romance The Host. The album features the film’s original score composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Snitch, Senna) who has previously scored Niccol’s Lord of War. Also included is the hit song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. The soundtrack will be released on March 26, 2013. Check back on this page for audio clips. The film’s music is composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, Senna). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s digitally earlier this week. Also opening wide is the supernatural thriller Dark Skiesdirected by Scott Stewart, produced by Jason Blum and starring Keri Russell, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Goyd and J.K. Simmons. The film’s score is composed by Joseph Bishara who has previously scored the Blum-produced horror hit film Insidious. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Premiering tonight is the action thriller Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin-Laden directed by John Stockwell and starring Cam Gigandet, Xzibit, Freddy Rodriguez, Anson Mount, Kathleen Robertson, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Kenneth Miller, Robert Knepper and William Fichtner. The film’s music is composed by Paul Haslinger who has previously worked with the director on such films as Crazy/Beautiful, Blue Crush, Into the Blue and Turistas. The movie, which was originally entitled Code Name: Geronimo premieres tonight on the National Geography Channel and will next air on Friday, November 9. Antonio Pinto to Score Andrew Niccol’s ‘The Host’
Antonio Pinto has signed on to score the upcoming film adaptation of The Host based on the sci-fi novel written by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight). The movie is written and directed by Andrew Niccol and stars Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder, a human living among an alien race called Souls in a dystopian future, whose body and mind is inhabited by a soul named Wanderer. Max Irons, Jake Abel, William Hurt, Diane Kruger, Frances Fisher, Chandler Canterbury and Boyd Holbrook are co-starring. Meyer is producing the film with Nick Wechsler (Magic Mike, The Time Traveler’s Wife), as well as Steve Schwartz & Paula Mae Schwartz (The Road, Killing Them Softly) of Chockstone Pictures.
‘The Odyssey’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for Asif Kapadia’s documentary The Odyssey. The album features the film’s original score composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War) and Dudu Aram. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 3, 2012 and is now available on Amazon. Audio clips are available below. The Odyssey canvases the opinions of Londoners from the point where the Olympics were first won by London up to the point when it happens. Pinto has previously scored the director’s critically acclaimed documentary Senna. The Odyssey is backed by BBC Films and Film4 is set to premiere at the London Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival later this month.

Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper, Benjamin Bratt, Jon Bernthal, Harold Perrineau, Melina Kanakaredes, Michael Kenneth Williams, Rafi Gavron and Nadine Velazquez are co-starring. Waugh adapted the screenplay from an original script by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road). Johnson is producing the Exclusive Media Group, Participant Media and Imagenation Abu Dhabi production with Dany Garcia and David Fanni.
