Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:

snitchOpening in most theaters is the action thriller Snitch directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Jon Bernthal, Benjamin Bratt and Barry Pepper. The film’s music is composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, Senna). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s digitally earlier this week. dark-skiesAlso opening wide is the supernatural thriller Dark Skiesdirected by Scott Stewart, produced by Jason Blum and starring Keri Russell, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Goyd and J.K. Simmons. The film’s score is composed by Joseph Bishara who has previously scored the Blum-produced horror hit film Insidious. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. blessmeultimaOpening in limited release is the drama Bless Me, Ultima directed by Carl Franklin based on the bestselling novel by Rudolfo Anaya and starring Luke Ganalon, Miriam Colon, Benito Martinez, Dolores Heredia, Castulo Guerra, Joaquín Cosio, Manuel García-Rulfo, Reko Moreno, Luis Bordonada and Joseph A. Garcia. Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Traitor, Pitch Perfect) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music last fall. inescapableAlso opening in limited release is the thriller Inescapable directed by Ruba Nabba and starring Alexander Siddig, Marisa Tomei, Joshua Jackson, Oded Fehr and Saad Siddiqui. The film’s music is composed by Geo Hoehn. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie follows a man whose daughter disappears in Damascus, forcing him to return to the country he left behind more than three decades ago. The thriller premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and has been picked for domestic distribution by IFC Films. For more information about the film, visit the official movie website.
