Warner Bros. Records has released a soundtrack album for the thriller Mall. The album features the film’s original music composed by Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn, Mike Shinoda (The Raid) & composer Alec Puro (The Art of Getting By, The Fosters). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Mall is directed by Joe Hahn and stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Gina Gershon, Cameron Monaghan, Peter Stormare and James Frecheville. The movie follows five disaffected suburbanites whose lives come together at a shopping mall following a seemingly random shooting.

Alec Puro to Score ‘Ashby’
Alec Puro has signed on to score the upcoming indie comedy drama Ashby. The film is written and directed by Tony McNamara (The Rage in Lake Placid) and stars Mickey Rourke, Nat Wolff, Emma Roberts, Sarah Silverman, Michael Lerner, Kevin Dunn and Zach Knighton. The movie centers on the relationship between two neighbors, a high school student and a retired CIA assassin who only has a few months left to live. Kevin McCormick (Gangster Squad, The Lucky One, Arthur) & Rory Koslow are producing the project for Langley Park Pictures, alongside Josh Kesselman (For a Good Time, Call…) for Tagline Pictures and Phil Hunt & Compton Ross for Head Gear Films.

Premiering on Tuesday, September 30, on ABC is the new comedy Manhattan Love Story created by Jeff Lowell (John Tucker Must Die) and starring Analeigh Tipton, Jake McDorman, Nicolas Wright, Jade Catta-Preta, Chloe Wepper and Kurt Fuller. The show’s original music is composed by Alec Puro (The Fosters, The Art of Getting By, The First Time). Also premiering on Tuesday on ABC is the new comedy Selfie created by Emily Kapnek and starring Karen Gillan, John Cho, Tim Peper, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Allyn Rachel and David Harewood. Jared Faber (Suborgatory, As Told by Ginger) is composing the show’s original music. Selfie follows a self-obsessed twentysomething who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of the YA novel The Maze Runner directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Aml Ameen and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Dragons: Riders of Berk, When the Game Stands Tall, Crisis). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the is the thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones directed by Scott Frank and starring Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour and Boyd Holbrook. Alec Puro to Score ABC’s ‘Manhattan Love Story’
Alec Puro has signed on to score the upcoming ABC comedy Manhattan Love Story. The show is created by Jeff Lowell (John Tucker Must Die, Spin City) and stars Analeigh Tipton, Jake McDorman, Nicolas Wright, Jade Catta-Preta, Chloe Wepper and Kurt Fuller. The series exposes the unfiltered internal monologues of a young couple embarking on a new relationship. Lowell is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Peter Traugott (Samantha Who?), Robin Schwartz, Rachel Kaplan and Jon Liebman (Ringer). Michael Fresco (My Name is Earl, Raising Hope) has directed the pilot episode. Manhattan Love Story is set to premiere this fall and will air every Tuesday night on ABC.
Alec Puro to Score ‘The One I Love’
Alec Puro has signed on to score the upcoming indie drama The One I Love. The film is directed by Charlie McDowell and stars Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass as a young couple with marital problems. Ted Danson is playing their therapist. Justin Lader has written the screenplay. Mel Eslyn (co-producer of My Sister’s Sister and Touchy Feely) is producing the project and Mark Duplass (Cyrus, Jeff Who Lives at Home) is executive producing. The One I Love is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2014.

Premiering tomorrow, June 3, on ABC is the new drama Mistresses starring Alyssa Milano, Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, Brett Tucker, Jason George and Erik Stocklin. The series about the scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends is based on the UK series of the same title and is executive produced by Rina Mimoun (Privileged), K.J. Steinberg (Gossip Girl), Robert Sertner (Revenge) and Douglas Rae (Wuthering Heights). The show’s original score is composed by Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal). Rob Simonsen (500 Days of Summer, The Way, Way Back) also contributed music for the pilot episode. Mistresses will air every Monday night on ABC. Alec Puro Scoring ABC Family’s ‘The Fosters’
Alec Puro is scoring the new ABC Family drama The Fosters. The show is created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige and stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez. The series follows a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids who are being raised by two moms. Jennifer Lopez serves as an executive producer alongside Bredeweg & Paige, as well as Joanna Johnson (Hope & Faith), Elaine Goldsmith Thomas (Maid in Manhattan, Mona Lisa Smile), Benny Medina and Greg Gugliotta. The Fosters is set to premiere on June 3, 2013 and will air every Monday night on ABC Family.
Alec Puro to Score ‘The Scribbler’
Alec Puro has been hired to score the upcoming thriller The Scribbler. The film is directed by John Suits (Breathing Room) and stars Katie Cassidy as a young woman who is confronting her destructive mental illness using an experimental machine designed to eliminate multiple personalities. Garret Dillahunt, Michelle Trachtenberg, Eliza Dushku, Michael Imperioli, Gina Gershon, Billy Campbell and Sasha Grey are also starring. The movie is based on the graphic novel by Dan Schaffer who has adapted the material for the screen. Gabriel Cowan and Ken F. Levin are producing the New Arts Alliance and Caliber Media production.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the found footage horror film Paranormal Activity 4 directed by Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman, produced by Jason Blum & Oren Peli and starring Kathryn Newton, Matt Shively, Aiden Lovekamp, Brady Allen, Stephen Dunham, Alexondra Lee and Katie Featherston. As the previous three movies in the series, Paranormal Activity 4 doesn’t feature an original score and no soundtrack has been released.
