Premiering tonight is the PBS documentary Muhammad Ali directed and executive produced by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns & David McMahon about the iconic heavyweight boxing champion who became an inspiration to people everywhere. The film’s original music is composed by songwriter and hip hop record producer Jahlil Beats. A soundtrack album featuring the artist’s music has been released today. Premiering tomorrow, September 20 is the Fox comedy drama The Big Leap created by Liz Heldens and starring Scott Foley, Simone Recasner, Piper Perabo, Jon Rudnitsky, Ser’Darius Blain, Raymond Cham, Jr., Kevin Daniels, Mallory Jansen, Anna Grace Barlow and Teri Polo. Joe Wong (The Midnight Gospel, Master of None, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Russian Doll) is composing the show’s original score. A first song from the series (Just Like Heaven produced by Wong and performed by Eryn Allen Kane) was released this past week. Opening in theaters nationwide today is the drama Cry Macho directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Eastwood himself, Eduardo Minett, Natalia Traven, Fernanda Urrejola, Dwight Yoakam and Horacio Garcia-Rojas. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Mancina (Moana, Tarzan, Bad Boys, Speed, Twister, August Rush, Training Day). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song performed by Will Banister last week. The show is helmed by Rhys Thomas (Staten Island Summer) & directing duo Bert and Bertie (Troop Zero) and stars Jeremy Renner in the title role, alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and Alaqua Cox. The series is set in post-blip New York City and follows former Avenger Clint Barton who is forced together with Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero, when a presence from Barton’s past appears. Lionsgate Records has released a soundtrack album for the Starz original series Blindspotting. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Ambrose Akinmusire and Michael Yezerski (The Tax Collector, The Devil’s Candy, Feel the Beat, The Vigil) who previously scored the 2018 feature of the same title, intermixed with spoken word elements by the cast, including Jasmine Cephas-Jones, Benjamin Earl Turner and Rafael Casal. Back Lot Music has released a new soundtrack album for Paul Schrader’s dramatic thriller The Card Counter . The album features the film’s original score composed by Robert Levon Been (of the rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) & Giancarlo Vulcano (Briarpatch, Great News, Modern Persuasion).
