Deadline is reporting that actor/singer Ben Platt will contribute original music to the upcoming drama Last Dance. He will also star in the movie directed by Karim Aïnouz (Firebrand, Invisible Life), alongside Adrien Brody and Rachel Zegler. The movie follows a celebrated Broadway composer who invites his daughter on a gay cruise through the Caribbean in 1991, on which the daughter, the only straight woman on board, experiences an unexpected first love with a young crew member. Emily Ziff Griffin (Jack Goes Boating, God’s Pocket) wrote the screenplay based on her 2021 autobiographical New Yorker article The Last Dance with My Dad. The project is produced by Fifth Season and Lynette Howell Taylor (A Star Is Born, The Accountant) for 51 Entertainment. No production start date has been announced yet for Last Dance.
