Over the last few weeks, Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, Scream, Ford v. Ferrari, A Quiet Place, The Wolverine, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, The Hurt Locker) has released three of his early scores from his first projects in the 1990s. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is the composer’s music from the 1999 indie drama The Florentine directed by Nick Stagliano and starring Jeremy Davies, Virginia Madsen, Luke Perry, Mary Stuart Masterson, Chris Penn, Michael Madsen and Tom Sizemore,  the 1995 TV series Land’s End starring Fred Dryer, Geoffrey Lewis & Tim Thomerson, as well as the 1995 short The Bicyclist directed by Robert Stark Hickey and starring Richmond Harrison & Scott Vance. Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the spy drama Operation Mincemeat. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Thomas Newman (American Beauty, 1917, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, Wall-E). Composer Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansmanMalcolm X, Harriet, 25th Hour, Da 5 Bloods, One Night in Miami…) is reuniting with director Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Old GuardBeyond the Lights) on the upcoming historical drama The Woman King.  The film starring Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch and John Boyega is set in Africa’s Kingdom of Dahomey and tells the story of Nanisca, the general of the all-female military unit, and Nawi, an ambitious recruit, who together fought enemies who who violated their honor and enslaved their people. Netflix has announced the world premiere live-to-screen performance of the Academy Award-nominated score composed by Jonny Greenwood (Phantom Thread, There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice, Spencer) from Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog. The music will be performed by the Wordless Music Orchestra, which has previously been involved in live-to-picture concerts for films including Moonlight, Jackie, The Tree of Life, Creed, Punch-Drunk Love, Birdman and Beasts of the Southern Wild. The event present by Netflix in partnership with KCRW will take on March 10 at 7:30pm at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The film is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Megan Leavey, Our Friend) and stars Ariana DeBose, Chris Messina, Pilou Asbaek, John Gallagher Jr., Costa Ronin and Masha Mashkova. The movie follows six astronauts living aboard the International Space Station (ISS) who have to take action after receiving distressing information from Earth that threatens their missions and their lives. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Carlos Jean (Sky High, The Absent, Warriors). Operación Marea Negra is written by Patxi Amezcua & Patxi Amezcua and stars Álex González, Nerea Barros, Nuno Lopes, Miquel Insua, and Luis Zahera. Steven & Julie Bernstein (Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain) have scored the classic American animated shorts- inspired episode Laser Baby’s Day Out written by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg.
