Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the sports documentary No Place For Football. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joe Bridges and Mike MacLennan (Eyriki, Crazy Cat Lady). Tom Howe (Ted LassoDog Man,  Early Man, Reminders of HimKnuckles, Elle, Every Year After, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: FarmageddonDaisy Jones & the Six) has provided the main theme. No Place For Football is directed by Brandon & Derek Smith and tells the story of the Greenlandic Football Championship, during which, for one week, a nation of 57,000 people looked on as a club from Nuuk traveled to the host town of Ilulissat to compete for the Golden Tuukkaq, the medallion awarded to the national champions. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Les Garçons (Sharon Stone: Survival Instinct, Un autre père) . Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Furious. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Emmy Award nominee Ariel Marx Marx (Dying for Sex, Shiva BabyCandy, Sanctuary, A Small Light, Murdaugh: Death in the Family, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, The Last FrontierA Friend of the Family, The Tale). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 31 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Premiering on Tuesday, September 1, is the Paramount+ original series The Varnell Hill Show executive produced by Martin Lawrence and Bentley Kyle Evans and starring Tommy Davidson (who reprises his role of the title character first introduced in the classic sitcom Martin), Kym Whitley, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Emmanuel Hudson, Nick Cafero and Chris Williams. The show’s original music is composed by Matthew Head (P-Valley, Tom SwiftBoomerang, She the People, The Family Business, Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia). The comedy, which is set behind the scenes of a long-running late-night talk show and follows Varnell as he fights to stay relevant in a rapidly changing entertainment landscape, will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+.

Premiering on Wednesday, September 2, is the British action thriller The Runner directed by Kevin Macdonald and starring Gal Gadot, Damian Lewis, Rory Wilmot and Alfred Enoch. Tom Hodge (McMafia, The Mauritianian, The Ipcress FileCleaner,  High & Low: John Galliano, Name Me Lawand, Klitschko: More Than a Fight, Je Suis Karl) has composed the film’s original music. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the South African Netflix original series Umthetho. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Joel Assaizky (Marked, VayaWhite Wedding, Soon Comes Night). Warner Classics has announced Howard Shore – A Piano Tribute, an album crafted by Dimitri Soudoplatoff featuring new arrangements of classic film scores by the Academy Award-winning composer performed by pianist Aurélien Pontier, joined by violinist Nemanja Radulovic, soprano Natalie Dessay, and other guests. Shore himself was directly involved in the production. Among the titles included are pieces from the composer’s scores from Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey & The Desolation of Smaug, Martin Scorsese’s Hugo & The Departed, David Cronenberg’s The Fly, Crash & Eastern Promises, David Fincher’s Seven & The Game, Tim Burton’s Ed Wood, among others. The album will be released (coinciding with Shore’s 80th birthday) digitally and on CD on October 16 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
