Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror movie The Exorcist: Believer co-written and directed by David Gordon Green and starring Leslie Odom, Jr., Jennifer Nettles, Ann Dowd, Norbert Leo Butz, Olivia Marcus, Lidya Jewett, and Ellen Burstyn. The film’s original music is composed by David Wingo (Mud, Take Shelter, Barry, The ReportMidnight SpecialLoving) and Amman Abbasi (Dayveon). Opening semi-wide in several hundred theaters is the romantic comedy She Came to Me written and directed by Rebecca Miller and starring Peter Dinklage, Marisa Tomei, Anne Hathaway, Joanna Kulig and Brian d’Arcy James. Bryce Dessner (Cyrano, The Two Popes, BardoA Good Person, The Kitchen, Irresistible) has composed the film’s original score. Warner Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original score by Bruce Springsteen last week. Paramount Music has released a new digital soundtrack album for the 1987 horror comedy The Monster Squad co-written and directed by Fred Dekker and starring Andre Gower, Robby Kiger, Duncan Regehr, Stephen Macht, Stan Shaw and Tom Noonan. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Bruce Broughton (Silverado, The Miracle on 42nd Street, Young Sherlock HolmesRescuers Down Under, Homeward Bound, Tombstone). Also included is the Monster Squad Rap written by Michael Sembello & Richard Rudolph. Genie Music has released a soundtrack album for the South Korean Netflix original film Ballerina. The album features the original score from the movie composed by South Korean rapper, singer and music producer Gray (aka Lee Seong-hwa) who made his feature scoring debut on the project, as well as songs by DeVita, Jambino, Woo & others. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Ballerina is directed by Lee Chung-hyun and stars Jun Jong-seo, Kim Ji-hun and Park Yu-rim.
