Nathan Barr has been hired to score the upcoming ensemble comedy The Wedding. The movie is written and directed by Justin Zackham (Lights Out, The Bucket List) and stars Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes and Topher Grace. The film centers on a long-divorced couple being forced to pretend that they are still happily married at their son’s marriage. ‘Severe Clear’ Score by Cliff Martinez Released

Sirk Productions has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Severe Clear. The album includes the original score from the film by composer Cliff Martinez. The soundtrack is available digitally on Amazon and iTunes. To listen to clips from all 15 tracks on the album, check out the box after the jump. Severe Clear directed by Kristian Fraga is based on the memoir by First Lieutenant Mike Scotti as well as video footage shot by him and other members of 1st Battalion, 4th Marines on the outset of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Mom + Pop Records has announced a soundtrack release for the indie comedy drama Norman. The album includes the original score and songs from the movie by Andrew Bird, as well as a couple of songs from the film by Wolf Parade, the Blow, Richard Swift and Chad VanGaalen. Varese Sarabande has announcd the details for the soundtrack release of the action comedy Tower Heist. The album features the original score by composer Christophe Beck. The soundtrack will be released on November 1, 2011 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Tower Heist marks Beck’s and director Brett Ratner’s first collaboration. The movie starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick, Tea Leoni, Michael Pena, Alan Alda, Gabourey Sidibe, Judd Hirsch and Nina Arianda will be released nationwide on November 4. Four new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Jim Sheridan’s horror thriller Dream House starring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts features an original score by composer John Debney. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack CD including Debney’s score on October 11. The album is also already available to download on iTunes. Also opening wide is the comedy drama 50/50 directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anjelica Huston, Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard. The score from the movie is composed by Michael Giacchino. No soundtrack album has been announced so far. Ramin Djawadi has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller Safe House. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Denzel Washington, Vera Farmiga, Liam Cunningham, Brendan Gleeson, Robert Patrick and Sam Shepard. The film centers on a man at a CIA-run safe house who must help a criminal, who’s being kept there, avoid being killed by villains who want the witness dead. Christopher Lennertz has signed on to score the comedy drama As Cool as I Am. The movie starring James Marsden, Claire Danes, Sarah Bolger, Jon Tenney, Peter Fonda, Jeremy Sisto, Alanis Morissette, Thomas Mann, Anika Noni Rose and Mario Batali follows a Montana teen girl who deals with her self-centered parents trying to recapture the youth they feel they missed. The film is directed by Max Mayer who has previously collaborated with Lennertz on the 2009 indie drama Adam starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne.
