Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure Seventh Son. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (World War Z, Scream, The Wolverine, 3:10 to Yuma, Live Free or Die Hard). The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples. Seventh Son is directed by Sergei Bodrov and stars Ben Barnes, Jeff Bridges, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Olivia Williams, Antje Traue, Djimon Hounsou and Julianne Moore. The movie follows a teen who is the seventh son of a seventh son, and who learns about wizardry from a forbidding spook.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (February 6, 2015)
Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water directed by Paul Tibbitt and featuring the voices of Antonio Banderas, Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence and Douglas Lawrence. Columbia Records has released a soundtrack featuring five songs from the film. Visit Amazon to download the release. The movie’s original score is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, Elf, Bruce Almighty). No word yet on a release of the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the sci-fi adventure Jupiter Ascending written and directed by Andy & Lana Wachowski and starring Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Douglas Booth. Michael Giacchino (Lost, Star Trek, Up, Ratatouille, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) has composed the film’s original score. Marco Beltrami Scoring ‘November Man’
Marco Beltrami has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller November Man. The film is directed by Roger Donaldson and stars Pierce Brosnan, Olga Kurylenko, Luke Bracey, Will Patton and Bill Smitrovich. The movie follows an ex-CIA operative who is pitted against his former pupil on a race to find a woman who is hiding from her past and who holds the key to an international conspiracy. Michael Finch (Predators) and Karl Gajdusek (Oblivion, Last Resort) have written the screenplay based on the book There Are No Spies by Bill Granger based on his 13-part November Man series. Beau St. Clair (The Thomas Crown Affair, Laws of Attraction) of Irish Dreamtime and Sriram Das (Veronika Decides to Die) of Das Films are producing the project.
