HerbX GmbH & Co. Verlags-KG has released a soundtrack album for the the German western parody The Canoe of Manitu (Das Kanu des Manitu). The album features the film’s original score composed by Ralf Wengenmayr (Love, Rosie, Balloon, Where’s Wanda?, Hotel Lux) who previously scored the original 2001 hit movie Manitou’s Shoe (Der Schuh des Manitu). As previously reported, the songs from the movie track written by Stefan Rabb have been released separately as a digital single. The Canoe of Manitu is co-written and directed by Michael Bully Herbig and stars Herbig, Christian Tramitz, Rick Kavanian, Jasmin Schwiers, Jessica Schwarz, Friedrich Mücke, Tutty Tran, Daniel Zillmann, Tobias van Dieken, Pit Bukowski, Akeem van Flodrop, Merlin Sandmeyer and Sky du Mont.

Christoph Zirngibl & Ralf Wengenmayr Scoring Apple TV+’s ‘Where’s Wanda?’
Christoph Zirngibl (Jerry Cotton, Mia and Me: The Hero of Centopia, Luna’s Revenge) & Ralf Wengenmayr (Manitou’s Shoe, Love, Rosie, Balloon, Hotel Lux) have teamed up to score the first German Apple TV+ original series, Where’s Wanda?. The show is created by Oliver Lansley (Flack) & Zoltan Spirandelli (Vaya con Dios) and stars Heike Makatsch, Axel Stein, Lea Drinda, Leo Simon, Palina Rojinski, Nikeata Thompson, Kostja Ullmann and Harriet Herbig-Matten. The 8-part comedy follows a father and mother who are desperate to locate their missing 17-year-old daughter who disappeared months ago without a trace and disguise themselves as employees of an electrical company to bug their neighborhood, finding out that behind closed doors, none of their neighbors are who they pretend to be.
‘A Thousand Lines’ (‘Tausend Zeilen’) Soundtrack Released
BMG has released a soundtrack album for the German satire A Thousand Lines (Tausend Zeilen). The album features the film’s original music composed by Ralf Wengenmayr (Manitou’s Shoe, Love, Rosie, Balloon, Hotel Lux). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. is directed by Michael Bully Herbig and stars Elyas M’Barek, Jonas Nay, Marie Burchard and Michael Ostrowski. The movie is based on the novel Tausend Zeilen Lüge by Juan Morenos and tells the story of the freelance reporter who exposed superstar journalist Claas Relotius who admitted to fabricating material in at least fourteen investigative articles he wrote.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water directed by Paul Tibbitt and featuring the voices of Antonio Banderas, Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence and Douglas Lawrence. Columbia Records has released a soundtrack featuring five songs from the film. Visit Amazon to download the release. The movie’s original score is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, Elf, Bruce Almighty). No word yet on a release of the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the sci-fi adventure Jupiter Ascending written and directed by Andy & Lana Wachowski and starring Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Douglas Booth. Michael Giacchino (Lost, Star Trek, Up, Ratatouille, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) has composed the film’s original score.
