Greek composer Eleni Karaindrou has written the original score for the upcoming drama The Last Planet. The film is written and directed by Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, Days of Heaven, The Tree of Life) and stars Geza Rohrig as Jesus Christ, Matthias Schoenaerts as Apostle Peter, Mark Rylance as Satan, as well as Aidan Turner, Joseph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley, Douglas Booth, Martin McCann, Tawfeek Barhom, Ori Pfeffer, Shadi Mar’i, Makram Khoury, Numan Acar and Emilio De Marchi. The movie tells the story of Christ’s life through a series of parables.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s drama A Hidden Life. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, Signs, King Kong, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Maleficent). Also included are classical pieces by Handel, Dvorak and Gorecki as featured in the movie. The soundtrack is expected to be released on December 6 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The film is written and directed by Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, Days of Heaven, Badlands) and stars August Diehl, Valerie Pachner, Michael Nyqvist, Jürgen Prochnow, Martin Wuttke, Maria Simon, Franz Rogowski, Matthias Schoenaerts and Bruno Ganz. The movie tells the true story of Franz Jaegerstaetter, an Austrian farmer who, after Germany annexed Austria in 1938, refused to fight for the Third Reich.
Expanded ‘The Thin Red Line’ Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the details of the 20th Anniversary expanded soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s 1998 drama The Thin Red Line starring Sean Penn, Adrien Brody and Woody Harrelson. The 4-CD set features the expanded and remastered Academy Award-nominated music from the 20th Century Fox production composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, The Lion King), including the film score as written in chronological film order on the first two discs, the remastered original 1999 soundtrack album on the third disc and RCA’s album of Melanesian chants from the movie on the fourth disc.
‘The Vessel’ Soundtrack Details
A soundtrack album will be released for the drama The Vessel. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hanan Townshend (To the Wonder, Knight of Cups, The Better Angels). Also included is the song Despertia performed by Gabriel Ruiz Galindo & Gabriel Luna De La Fuente (feat. Mayte Martín). The album features the film’s original music composed by Hanan Townshend who previously collaborated with the director on the features To the Wonder, The Tree of Life and The Better Angels. Also included are classical compositions by Arvo Part and Edvard Grieg & other music from the film. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 4, 2016 and physically on March 25. Terrence Malick’s ‘Voyage of Time’ to Feature Music by Ennio Morricone
According to Wild Bunch (via The Playlist), Ennio Morricone is composing original music for Terrence Malick’s upcoming documentary Voyage of Time. The film is described as a “celebration of the universe, displaying the whole of time, from its start to its final collapse”. Brad Pitt will be narrating a 40-minute version, which is set to be released in IMAX theaters and Cate Blanchett is providing narration for a feature version of the movie. Pitt is also producing the project with Dede Gardner (12 Years a Slave,World War Z), Nicolas Gonda (To the Wonder, Knight of Cups), Sarah Green (Mud, Sarah Green), Grant Hill (The Thin Red Line, V for Vendetta), Bill Pohlad (Into the Wild, Love & Mercy) and Sophokles Tasioulis (Earth, Deep Blue).

A CD version is set to be released on December 2. The Better Angels is written and directed by A.J. Edwards and stars Jason Clarke, Diane Kruger, Brit Marling, Wes Bentley and Braydon Denney. The movie centers on the formative years of Abraham Lincoln’s life in the harsh wilderness of Indiana in 1817.

Hanan Townshend is reuniting with director Terrence Malick on the upcoming drama Knight of Cups. The film is also written by Malick and stars Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Joel Kinnaman, Teresa Palmer, Wes Bentley, Imogen Poots, Nick Offerman, Isabel Lucas, Antonio Banderas, Jason Clarke and Freida Pinto. Recent reports indicate that not all listed actors will make the final cut of the movie. No specific plot details have been revealed yet. Sarah Green (The Tree of Life, Take Shelter, Mud) is producing the project with Nicolas Gonda (The Tree of Life, The New World). Townshend has previously scored Malick’s last feature To the Wonder. He is the first composer to collaborate with Malick more than once.
‘To the Wonder’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s new drama To the Wonder. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hanan Townshend. Also included are two classical pieces used in the movie by Richard Wagner and J.S. Bach. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 16, 2013 and physically on May 21.
