Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated composer Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Malcolm X, Inside Man, The Woman King,25th Hour, Perry Mason, Da 5 Bloods, Red Tails) has provided the original score for the new Netflix original documentary series Katrina: Come Hell and High Water. The show is directed by Geeta Gandbhir (Episode 1), Samantha Knowles (Episode 2) & Spike Lee (Episode 3) and centers on a group of Hurricane Katrina survivors as they reflect on the disastrous storm in 2005 that forever changed their lives and the systemic inequities it exposed. The 3-parter features first-person accounts and never before seen archival footage that illustrate the magnitude of Katrina and the aftermath of the levees breaking and the bungled recovery.

‘Highest 2 Lowest’ Soundtrack Album Details
The details of the soundtrack album for Spike Lee’s crime thriller Highest 2 Lowest have been announced. The album curated by Lee features the music from the film, including Aiyana-Lee’s title song (which has already been released as a digital single today), as well as new songs by ASAP Rocky (who also stars in the movie) and Jensen McRae. Also included are selections of Howard Drossin’s original score from the film, as well as original tracks by Scotland’s piano outfit Fergus McCreadie Trio, which blend traditional Scottish folk music with contemporary jazz. The soundtrack will released digitally on August 15 by A24 Music and will be available to stream/download Amazon and any other major digital music services. Terence Blanchard (Malcolm X, BlacKkKlansman, 25th Hour, Inside Man, Harriet, One Night in Miami…) has composed the original score for the new HBO docu-series NYC Epicenters 9/11➔2021½. The show is directed by Spike Lee and weaves together the stories, memories and insights of those who were eyewitnesses to New York’s greatest challenges. The 4-parter features interviews with Jon Stewart, Rosie Perez, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Chuck Schumer, Bill De Blasio, Dr. Anthony Fauci, among others and explores New York City’s resilience and grit and affirming its innate ability to rebound, rebuild and endure. Deadline is reporting that Stew Stewart & Heidi Rodewald will compose the original songs and music for a movie musical about the breakthrough of the Pfizer miracle drug: Viagra. The currently untitled film will be directed by Spike Lee (Malcolm X, BlacKkKlansman, Do the Right Thing, Inside Man) who is also co-writing the screenplay with Kwame Kwei-Armah. The movie is based on the Esquire article All Rise: The Untold Story of The Guys Who Launched Viagra by David Kushner and is inspired by the true events surrounding around Pfizer’s discovery and launch of the erectile dysfunction drug.
