Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the crime comedy Stand Up Guys. The album features two new original songs by Jon Bon Jovi (Old Habits Die Hard, Not Running Anymore), as well as tracks by Baby Huey and The Babysitters, Gary Clark, Jr., Elvin Bishop, Muddy Waters and Wayne Cochran & CC Riders. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Lyle Workman (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Superbad). The soundtrack will be released on November 20, 2012. According to the movie’s latest trailer and poster, Varese Sarabande will release a score album for Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad. The film’s music is composed by Steve Jablonksy (Transformers series, Desperate Housewives). No word yet on a release date, but the album is expected to come out around the film’s release in January of next year. In addition, WaterTower Music will release a separate soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs. Check back on this site for updates on both albums. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama 28 Hotel Rooms. The album features the film’s original score composed by Fall On Your Sword (Another Earth, Lola Versus), as well as the songs Look at You by Lindsey Haun and A Dask of Pixie Dust by Kirk Ross. The soundtrack will be released on November 6, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon28 Hotel Rooms is written and directed by Matt Ross and stars Chris Messina and Marin Ireland as a novelist and a corporate accountant who find themselves in bed together while traveling for work in a city far from their homes. Brian Tyler has signed on to score Iron Man 3. The film is directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark/Iron Man, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Paul Bettany who are reprising their characters from the previous film. Ben Kingsley stars as the film’s villain The Mandarin and Rebecca Hall, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton are also starring. Black has co-written the screenplay with Drew Pearce. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige (The AvengersThor) is producing the third installment in the franchise and Louis D’Esposito, Stan Lee and Charles Newirth are executive producing. Metropolis Movie Music will release the soundtrack for the thriller Alex Cross. The album features the film’s original score composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 22, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks on the album after the jump. Alex Cross is directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) and stars Tyler Perry in the title role, alongside Matthew Fox, Edward Burns, Rachel Nichols and Jean Reno. La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score from the 1992 hit romantic thriller The Bodyguard directed by Mick Jackson and starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. The music is composed by Academy Award-nominated composer Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future). The album is limited to 3500 copies and is available to order on the label’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips. The soundtrack features the score including material not used in the film, as well as a couple of bonus tracks. The original bestselling 1992 soundtrack album for The Bodyguard only included one track of Silvestri’s music in addition to the Academy Award-nominated original songs Run to You and I Have Nothing from the film. The details of the soundtrack album for the drama Chasing Mavericks have been revealed. The album features the original song Give Me An Energy by Greg Holden, as well as several alternative rock tracks from the 90s by artists including Mazzy Star, Sponge, The Butthole Surfers, The Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr. and Matthew Sweet. Also included is a 6-minute suite from the movie’s original score composed by Chad Fischer (Garden State). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 23, 2012 by Relativity Music Group. Michael Andrews is reteaming with Paul Feig on the upcoming buddy cop comedy The Heat. The composer has previously scored last year’s hit comedy Bridesmaids for the director. The Heat stars Sandra Bullock as a high-strung FBI agent and Melissa McCarthy as an unconventional Boston cop who team to take down a Russian gangster. Tony Hale, Bill Burr, Demian Bichir and Michael Rapaport are co-starring in the comedy. Kate Dippold (Parks and Recreation) has written the film’s script and Peter Chernin (New Girl), Dylan Clark (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Jenno Topping (Country Strong, Guess Who) are producing the project. Varese Sarabande has announced the details for the soundtrack album for the thriller Shadow Dancer. The album features the film’s score composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Last Chance Harvey). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 16, 2012. A physical release is coming out in Europe on the same day. Audio clips will be added to this article next week. Shadow Dancer directed by James Marsh (Man on Wire, Project Nim) and stars Clive Owen, Andrea Riseborough, Aidan Gillen and Gillian Anderson. The movie follows a mother who is heavily involved in the Irish Republican movement and loses her younger brother at the hands of the British security forces. The Music of Bond: The First 50 Years

Last Friday, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences celebrated the music of the James Bond series at the event The Music of Bond: The First 50 Years at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The Academy has published a couple of video clips from the event, including guitarist Vic Flick’s live performance of the James Bond theme on the same Clifford Essex Paragon Deluxe he used 50 years ago, as well as an excerpt from the interview with Flick talking about working with composer John Barry on Bond films including Dr. No and Goldfinger. Both videos can be checked out after the jump. Also embedded is a video clip from the interview with Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black talking about his work with Barry and a story about the theme song for Diamonds Are Forever, as well as an excerpt from the talk with composer Bill Conti on writing the Oscar-nominated title song to For Your Eyes Only.
