‘Invader’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish thriller Invader (Invasor). The album features the film’s original score composed by Lucas Vidal (The RavenThe Cold Light of Day). The soundtrack will be released on November 20, 2012. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Invader is directed by Daniel Calparsoro and stars Alberto Amman (Cell 211), Antonio de la Torre (The Last Circus) and Karra Elejalde (Biutiful). The movie is based on Fernando Maria’s novel Morena and Vaca and follows a doctor who is suffering from amnesia after an accident on a mission of the Spanish Army and begins to investigate what happened. ‘Skyfall’ Recording Sessions

Sony Pictures Belgium has published a short video from the recording sessions of the score for the latest James Bond film Skyfall. The video features footage of the film’s composer Thomas Newman conducting the orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London, as well as the composer talking about his first score for the Bond series. Nathan Wang has been tapped to score the Chinese-language romantic comedy My Lucky Star. The film is a prequel to the 2009 Chinese blockbuster Sophie’s Revenge and stars Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha) and singer Wang Leehom. Dennie Gordon (New York Minute, What a Girl Wants) is directing the movie. The movie is the first Chinese market production to be directed by an American woman. Ziyi is producing the film with Ling Lucas, Beaver Kwei, Second Chan and William Cheng. The Bona Entertainment production takes place in Beijing, Singapore to Hong Kong and Macau. GNP Crescendo has announced the world premiere release of the complete score for Star Trek: Generations. The music is composed by Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation and Voyager). The 2-CD set features the complete film score on disc one (including music for one scene deleted from the finished film), and a remastered version of the 1994 soundtrack album on the second disc. Star Trek: Generations directed by David Carson is the seventh feature film in the series and stars Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, William Shatner and Malcolm McDowell. Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the indie romantic comedy Save the Date. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Wilco, Daniel Hart, Giorgio Moroder, Wolfbird, Houses, Nick Waterhouse, Arum Rae, Class Actress, The One AM Radio and Charles Bradley feat. Menahan Street Band. Also included is one track from the film’s score composed by Hrishikesh Hirway. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 6, 2012 and physically on November 20. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. Save the Date is directed by Michael Mohan and stars Lizzy Caplan, Alison Brie, Mark Webber, Geoffrey Arend, Martin Starr, Melonie Diaz and Timothy Busfield. A number of digital-only soundtrack albums by Metropolis Movie Music that have previously only been released overseas are coming out this week in the US. Among the titles is the soundtrack for the thriller The Samaritan. The album features the film’s score composed by Todor Kobakov. A couple of new TV shows are premiering this week:

Premiering on October 16 is the CW drama Emily Owens, M.D. created by Jennie Snyder Urman (Something Borrowed) and starring Mamie Gummer, Justin Hartley, Michael Rady, Aja Naomi King, Kelly McCreary and Necar Zadegan. The show’s score is composed by Jim Dooley (Pushing Daisies, When a Stranger Calls). The series follows a newly minted doctor looking for a fresh start in the adult professional world, who discovers that life at the hospital where she works is no different than high school. ‘Life of Pi’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for Ang Lee’s 3D adventure film Life of Pi have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mychael Danna (Moneyball, Little Miss Sunshine) who previously scored the director’s films The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil. The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2012 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Life of Pi starring Suraj Sharma, Shravanthi Sainath, Tabu and Gerard Depardieu follows a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and forms an unexpected connection with a fearsome Bengal tiger while marooned on a lifeboat. The details of the score album for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Carter Burwell who is scoring his third Twilight film following the 2008 original film and last year’s first Breaking Dawn movie. The soundtrack is currently scheduled to be released on November 19, 2012 by Atlantic Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the full track list after the jump. As previously reported, the label is also releasing a separate soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the film. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is directed by Bill Condon and starrs Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Five new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the political thriller Argo directed by Ben Affleck who also stars in the film with Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Victor Garber, Tate Donavan, Clea DuVall, Scoot McNairy, Rory Cochran, Christopher Denham, Chris Messina and Kyle Chandler. The film’s music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Sinister directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance, Fred Dalton Thompson, James Ransone, Clare Foley and Vincent D’Onofrio. Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3) has composed the film’s score. A soundtrack album featuring Young’s music is now available digitally and will be released on CD on October 30.
