A soundtrack album has been released for the drama Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt?. The album features the film’s original music composed by Elia Cmiral (Ronin, Stigmata, Wrong Turn) who previously scored the first part in the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy. The soundtrack is now available to order directly from Atlas Productions and will be released digitally on Amazon and iTunes later this month. Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt? based on the novel by Ayn Rand is directed by James Namera and starsLaura Regan and Rob Morrow as protagonists Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden.The third and final Atlas Shrugged movie is now playing in theaters.

Elia Cmiral Scoring ‘Any Day’ and ‘Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?’
Elia Cmiral has recently composed the score for the upcoming indie drama Any Day. The film is written and directed by Rustam Branaman and stars Sean Bean, Eva Longoria, Kate Walsh and Tom Arnold. The movie follows an ex-fighter who is transformed by the love and forgiveness he experiences through his 11-year-old nephew. Jeanette Zhou is producing the project for Jaguar Entertainment, alongside Darryl Marshak who is producing for The Marshak/Zachary Co. and Andrew Sugerman (Conviction, Undisputed) for Pantheon Entertainment. Any Day is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
‘Atlas Shrugged: Part II’ Soundtrack Released
A soundtrack album for the drama Atlas Shrugged: Part II has recently been released digitally. The album features the film’s score composed by Chris Bacon (Source Code, Gnomeo & Juliet). The album is now available digitally on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Atlas Shrugged: Part II directed by John Putch is the second part in a proposed trilogy adapting Ayn Rand’s 1957 classic novel and stars Samantha Mathis, Jason Beghe and Esai Morales. The movie opened in theaters this past October and will be released on BluRay and DVD later this year.

Five new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the political thriller Argo directed by Ben Affleck who also stars in the film with Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Victor Garber, Tate Donavan, Clea DuVall, Scoot McNairy, Rory Cochran, Christopher Denham, Chris Messina and Kyle Chandler. The film’s music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Sinister directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance, Fred Dalton Thompson, James Ransone, Clare Foley and Vincent D’Onofrio. Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3) has composed the film’s score. A soundtrack album featuring Young’s music is now available digitally and will be released on CD on October 30. Chris Bacon to Score ‘Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 – Either-Or’
Chris Bacon has been hired to score the upcoming drama Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 – Either-Or. The film directed by John Putch is the second installment in a proposed trilogy adapting Ayn Rand’s 1957 classic novel. The movie features an all new cast including Samantha Mathis as the heroine Dagny Taggart, Jason Beghe as Henry Rearden and Esai Morales as Francisco d’Anconia. The film’s story is said to continue right where the first part in the series left off. John Aglialoro and Harmon Kaslow are producing the project. Duncan Scott who produced the 1986 version of the Rand film adaptation of We the Living has joined the drama’s production team. The first part in the trilogy, which opened in theaters in the spring of 2011 featured an original score by Elia Cmiral. Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 – Either-Or is set to be released this fall.

Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Scream 4 reunites director Wes Craven with composer Marco Beltrami. Two different soundtracks have been released for the horror sequel. A score album featuring Beltrami’s music will be released next Tuesday and a song soundtrack with two score tracks is available on Lakeshore Records. Also opening is the animated feature Rio, which already opened in several foreign territories last weekend generating the highest grossing international opening of the year. The film’s score is by John Powell and Sergio Mendes served as the movie’s executive music producer. Rio‘s music team also includes percussionist Carlinhos Brown, lyricist Siedah Garrett, pop singer Taio Cruz and The Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am. A score album will be released next week by Varese Sarabande and the official soundtrack featuring the film’s songs is already out on Interscope Records.
Elia Cmiral scoring ‘Atlas Shrugged’
Elia Cmiral recently recorded his score for the upcoming bestseller adaptation Atlas Shrugged: Part 1. In the movie based on the 1957 novel by Ayn Rand, a powerful railroad executive struggles to keep her business alive while society is crumbling around her. The film directed by Paul Johansson stars Taylor Schilling, Edi Gathegi and Matthew Marsden. According to Elia Cmiral’s official webpage, the score was recorded with a large orchestra. There have been many attempts to bring the novel to the screen for the past decades, including a recent version which had director Vadim Perelman and composer James Horner attached to the project.
