Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced a new anniversary reissue of the score album for the 1996 slasher classic Scream directed by Wes Craven and starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Rose McGowan & Drew Barrymore. The original 14-track album featuring music by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place, Logan, 3:10 to Yuma, Hellboy, Ford v. Ferrarie) will be released on vinyl in a collectible “blood-soaked” sleeve featuring an iconic image of Barrymore as Casey Becker in the film’s opening scene on August 28. In addition to the wide Woodsboro Bloodbath red vinyl (now available for pre-order on Amazon), a variety of limited-edition exclusive pressings, including a Knife’s Edge silver vinyl with poster (Target), I’ll Be Right Backblue vinyl (Urban Outfitters), Surprise Sidney metallic blend vinyl (Barnes & Noble), Final Girl splatter vinyl (Hot Topic), Don’t Hang Up clear vinyl (Books-A-Million), Wrong Answer Blood Red Splatter vinyl (Varèse Sarabande/Craft Recordings), and Final Phone Call blue vinyl at select indie retailers, will also be available. In addition, an “Extended Cut Edition” of the Scream score album featuring all 40 of the film’s cues from the 2022 Scream box set, will be released on CD on the same day and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Remastered Soundtrack Album for Wes Craven’s ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ Announced
Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1977 horror cult classic The Hills Have Eyes written and directed by Wes Craven and starring Susan Lanier, Robert Houston, Martin Speer, Dee Wallace and Russ Grieve. The album features the film’s newly remastered original score composed by Don Peake (Knight Rider, The People Under the Stairs, Walk Proud, Moving Violation). The limited edition CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list, listen to audio samples and learn more about the release. Hitchcock Records has previously released the premiere soundtrack album featuring Peake’s score back in 2009.
World Premiere Soundtrack Release for Wes Craven’s ‘Deadly Blessing’ Announced
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1981 slasher movie Deadly Blessing co-written and directed by Wes Craven and starring Maren Jensen, Lisa Hartman, Sharon Stone, Susan Buckner, Jeff East, Lois Nettleton and Ernest Borgnine. The album features the original score from the PolyGram Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Avatar, Apollo 13, Aliens, Glory). The CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.
‘Scream’ Original Score Box Set to Be Released
Varese Sarabande will release a new box set featuring the original scores from the first four installments in the Scream series. Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Ford v. Ferrari, 3:10 to Yuma, World War Z, The Wolverine, The Hurt Locker) has composed the original music for all four movies. The 6-Disc set features the content of the label’s Scream & Scream 2 Deluxe Editions on the first two discs, as well as the composer’s expanded score from Scream 3 and Scream 4 on the third, fourth and fifth disc. The sixth disc features previously unreleased music from all films, as well as alternates and demo cues. The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, January 7. ‘Scream 2’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD club series. Among the new titles is a deluxe edition soundtrack for Wes Craven’s 1997 horror sequel Scream 2 starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Jamie Kennedy, Liev Schreiber, Timothy Olyphant, Jerry O’Connell and Laurie Metcalfe. The album features the complete original score composed and conducted by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, World War Z, The Hurt Locker) who also scored the other installments in the series, including more than 50 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included are Danny Elfman’s Cassandra Aria and Cassandra Reprise composed for the movie. Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for Paramount Pictures’ 2005 thriller Red Eye directed by Wes Craven and starring Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Hurt Locker, World War Z) who collaborated with the director on the Scream movies among other projects. Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Scream 4 reunites director Wes Craven with composer Marco Beltrami. Two different soundtracks have been released for the horror sequel. A score album featuring Beltrami’s music will be released next Tuesday and a song soundtrack with two score tracks is available on Lakeshore Records. Also opening is the animated feature Rio, which already opened in several foreign territories last weekend generating the highest grossing international opening of the year. The film’s score is by John Powell and Sergio Mendes served as the movie’s executive music producer. Rio‘s music team also includes percussionist Carlinhos Brown, lyricist Siedah Garrett, pop singer Taio Cruz and The Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am. A score album will be released next week by Varese Sarabande and the official soundtrack featuring the film’s songs is already out on Interscope Records.
