Cinema Musica has published a soundtrack preview of the soundtrack album for Ang Lee’s highly anticipated 3D adventure movie Life of Pi. The film’s music is composed by Mychael Danna (Moneyball, Little Miss Sunshine). Check out 50-second audio clips from all 28 tracks on the album after the jump. The details of the soundtrack album for Dreamworks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians have been revealed. The album features the film’s score composed, conducted and produced by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as the original song Still Dream performed by Renée Fleming and composed by Desplat with lyrics by the film’s screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire. The soundtrack will be released on November 13, 2012 by Varese Sarabande Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Rise of the Guardians based on the book series The Guardians of Childhood by William Joyce is directed by Peter Ramsey and tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost. ‘Person of Interest’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the CBS drama Person of Interest. The album features selections from the score from the show’s first season composed by Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Game of Thrones) and performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony. Also included is the series’ main titles theme composed by the show’s executive producer J.J. Abrams. The soundtrack’s release date has been pushed back to November 13, 2012 since our last update. Joby Talbot has been hired to score John Crowley’s upcoming currently Untitled International Suspense Thriller. The film stars Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall as two ex-lovers who find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they are joined together on the defense team in a terrorism trial. Julia Stiles, Jim Broadbent, Ciarán Hinds, Riz Ahmed, Kenneth Cranham and Anne-Marie Duff are co-starring. Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) has written the screenplay and Eric Fellner & Tim Bevan (Atonement, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) are producing the Focus Features and Working Titles Films production with Chris Clark (The Guard). The details of the soundtrack album for David O. Russell’s comedy drama Silver Linings Playbook have been revealed. The album features two tracks from the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman, as well as the movie’s songs by such artists as Stevie Wonder, Alabama Shakes, alt-K, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Rare Earth and Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash. The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2012 by Sony Masterworks and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Silver Linings Playbook starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Jacki Weaver and Chris Tucker is based on the novel by Matthew Quick and follows a former high-school teacher who returns to his family home after eight months in a mental institution and begins to slowly rebuild his life. Roque Banos to Score ‘Evil Dead’ Remake

Roque Banos has signed on to score the upcoming remake of the horror comedy Evil Dead. The film is written and directed by Fede Alvarez and stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci and Elizabeth Blackmore. The movie is a reinvention of Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult classic about a group of teens who holed up in a remote cabin and discover a Book of the Dead that unleashes demons they cannot control. Raimi is producing the remake with Rob Tapert (Drag me to Hell, The Grudge) and Bruce Campbell through his Ghost House Pictures company. James Horner is currently scoring Carlo Carlei’s upcoming film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The film stars Douglas Booth and Hailee Steinfeld in the title roles. The movie’s cast also includes Damian Lewis as Lord Capulet, Natascha McElhone as Lady Capulet, Lesley Manville as the Nurse and Ed Westwick as Tybalt. Other actors include Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence, Ed Westwick & Kodi Smit-McPhee as the lovers’ cousins, Tybalt and Benvolio and Stellan Skarsgard as Prince of Verona. Academy Award-winning writer Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, Downton Abbey) has penned the screenplay based on William Shakespeare’s play and is also producing the Amber Entertainment production with Ileen Maisel (Ripley’s Game) and Lawrence Elman. Sony Pictures Belgium has published a short video from the recording sessions of the score for the latest James Bond film Skyfall. The video features footage of the film’s composer Thomas Newman conducting the orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London, as well as the composer talking about his first score for the Bond series.
