‘Savannah’ Soundtrack Released

savannahKonsonant Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama Savannah. The album features the film’s original score composed by Gil Talmi who recorded his music with a live orchestra at East West Studios in Los Angeles. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Savannah is directed by Annette Haywood-Carter and stars Jim Caviezel, Sam Shepard, Bradley Whitford, Jaimie Alexander, Hal Halbrook, Jack McBrayer and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The movie is based on John Eugene Cay Jr.’s book Ward Allen: Savannah River Market Hunters and follows a man in the 1900s who leaves behind a life of privilege in Savannah to live off the land with a freed slave. The film will be released theatrically in select cities this Friday, August 23 by Ketchup Entertainment, followed by a released on VOD and DVD on September 24. Read the rest of this entry »

closed-circuitBack Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the thriller Closed Ciruit. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joby Talbot (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Penelope, Son of Rambow). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 27, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Closed Circuit is directed by John Crowley and stars Eric Bana, Rebecca Hall, Riz Ahmed, Jim Broadbent, Kenneth Cranham, Anne-Marie Duff, Ciarán Hinds and Julia Stiles. The movie follows two ex-lovers who find their loyalties tested and their lives at risk when they are joined together on the defense team in a terrorism trial. guardians-of-the-galaxyDirector James Gunn has confirmed on his Facebook page that Tyler Bates will be composing the score for Marvel’s upcoming superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy. The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Benicio del Toro, Karen Gillian, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace and Dave Bautista. Vin Diesel is also in talks to join the film’s cast. The movie based on the Marvel Comics characters created by Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning follows a U.S pilot who bands with a group of ex-cons from other planets after he’s thrust in the middle of a universal conflict. Gunn is writing and directing the project and Kevin Feige (The AvengersIron Man, ThorThe Incredible Hulk) is producing the movie for Marvel Studios. Read the rest of this entry »

oldboyRoque Banos has signed on to score the upcoming English-language remake of Oldboy. The film is directed by Spike Lee (Malcolm XInside Man) and stars Josh Brolin, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley. The movie follows an advertising executive who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement and sets out to find out who held him hostage and why when he is inexplicably released. Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, Thor) wrote the screenplay based on Chan-wook Park’s acclaimed Korean film from 2003 and Roy Lee & Doug Davison (The Strangers, The Lake House) and Nathan Kahane (Juno, 50/50) are producing the project. the-worlds-endBack Lot Music has released a score album for Edgar Wright’s final movie in his Cornetto trilogy, The World’s End. The album features the film’s original music composed by Steven Price (Gravity) who previously scored the Wright-produced horror comedy Attack the Block and served as music editor on the director’s last feature Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. As previously reported, ABKCO Records has also released a separate soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs today. The World’s End reunites Wright with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost following Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan are co-starring in the comedy, which opened in the UK earlier this summer and will be released in the US this Friday, August 23 by Focus Features. hornsRobin Coudert (aka Rob) has composed the score for the upcoming supernatural thriller Horns. The film is directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha, High Tension) and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Juno Temple, Max Minghella, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner, Heather Graham, David Morse, Kathleen Quinlan and James Remar. The movie is based on the fantasy/thriller novel by Joe Hill and follows a small town guy blamed for the murder of his girlfriend who awakens one morning to find a pair of horns growing from his head. Keith Bunin (In Treatment) has written the screenplay. Aja is also producing the Red Granite Pictures and Mandalay Pictures production with Cathy Schulman (Crash, The Illusionist), Riza Aziz & Joey McFarland (Friends with Kids, The Wolf of Wall Street). paradiseIntrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1991 drama Paradise directed by Mary Agnes Donoghue and starring Melanie Griffith, Don Johnson, Elijah Wood and Thora Birch. The film’s music is composed and conducted by Academy Award-nominated composer David Newman (Ice Age, Anastasia, Serenity). Also featured on the album is the world premiere score release for the 1987 teen comedy Can’t Buy Me Love directed by Steve Rash and starring Patrick Dempsey, Amanda Peterson and Seth Green. The movie’s music is composed and conducted by Robert Folk (Police Academy, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Nothing to Lose). ‘Revenge’ Soundtrack Details

revengeIntrada Records will release a soundtrack album for the ABC hit drama Revenge. The album features selections from the show’s original score from the first two seasons composed by iZLER (Shameless, Natural Selection) who records his music weekly with a live orchestra. Revenge created by Mike Kelley stars Emily VanCamp, Madeleine Stowe, Gabriel Mann, Henry Czerny and Ashley Madekwe. the-originalsMichael Suby is set to score the upcoming CW series The Originals. The show created by Julie Plec is a spin-off of the network’s hit series The Vampire Diaries and stars Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Daniella Pineda, Leah Pipes and Danielle Campbellas. The drama follows the Original family, the first existing vampires in the world that was first seen in the second season. Plec is executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios production with Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl) and Gina Girolamo (The Lying Game). Suby whose previous credits include the feature The Butterfly Effect and ABC Family’s Kyle XY and Pretty Little Liars has scored all episodes of The Vampire Diaries and will also return to score the show’s fifth season this fall. keeping-rosyStephen Warbeck is scoring the upcoming psychological thriller Keeping Rosy. The film marks the directorial feature debut of commercials director Steve Reeves and stars Maxine Peake, Blake Harrison and Christine Bottomley. The movie follows a female advertising executive whose life disintegrates after a series of unfortunate events. Reeves has co-written the screenplay with Mike Oughton. Richard Holmes (Waking Ned DevineEden Lake, Resistance) and Isabelle Georgeaux are producing the Air Productions and Redemption Films production.
