Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones. The album features the film’s original music composed by Carlos Rafael Rivera. A Walk Among the Tombstones is written and directed by Scott Frank (The Lookout) and stars Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour and Boyd Holbrook. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the caper comedy Life of of Crime. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Detachment, High School, Pawn Shop Chronicles). Also included is an instrumental version of Hearts on Ice by Jordan Galland. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Life of Crime is directed by Daniel Schechter and stars Jennifer Aniston, yasiin bey, Mark Boone Junior, Isla Fisher, Will Forte, Tim Robbins and John Hawkes. The movie is based on Elmore Leonard’s novel The Switch and follows the wife of a corrupt real estate developer who is kidnapped by two common criminals who intend to extort him with inside information about his crooked business and off-shore accounts. 2014 Hollywood Music in Media Awards Schedule Announced

The schedule for this year’s Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMAs) has been announced. The 5th edition of the event, which recognizes and honors music of visual mediums and the individuals who create, produce and place compositions in the medium, will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood. The 2014 HMMAs welcome back celebrity hosts including Academy Award-nominated actor Eric Roberts, former Matchbox 20 member Adam Gaynor, writer/director/producer Andy Fickman and Earh, Wind & Fire’s Verdine White. Brian Byrne is scoring the upcoming drama Boychoir. The movie follows an orphaned 12-year-old boy who is sent to a prestigious music school where he struggles to join an elite group of world-class singers and clashes with the school’s demanding choir master. Ludovico Einaudi to Score Olivier Nakache’s & Eric Toledano’s ‘Samba’

Ludovico Einaudi is reteaming with directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano on the upcoming French drama Samba. The film stars Omar Sy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Tahar Rahim and Izia Higelin. The movie follows a recent migrant to France who fights to stay in his adopted country with the help of a rookie immigration worker. Nackache & Toleedano have also written the screenplay. Yann Zenou, Laurent Zeitoun & Nicolas Duval-Adassovsky (Heartbreaker, A Perfect Plan) are producing the Quad Films, Ten Films and Gaumont production. Einaudi has previously scored the filmmakers’ previous feature The Intouchables, which became one of the all time highest-grossing movies in France in 2011. Samba is set to world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2013 World Soundtrack Awards to be presented in three categories: Film Composer of the Year, Best Original Score of the Year and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the World Soundtrack Awards & concert on Saturday, October 19, the closing night of the Ghent International Film Festival. Here are the nominations:
