Henry Jackman has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The film is directed by Edward Zwick (Glory, The Last Samurai, Legends of the Fall) and stars Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Aldis Hodge, Madalyn Horcher, Danika Yarosh, Patrick Heusinger, Holt McCallany and Robert Knepper. The movie is based on Lee Child’s book Never Go Back and follows the title character as he returns to the headquarters of his old unit, only to find out he’s now accused of a 16-year-old homicide. Zwick has also written the screenplay with Marshall Herskovitz based on an original script by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer). Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Making a Murderer’ Announced

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Making a Murderer. The album features the show’s themes composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, 21 Grams), as well as selections from the series’ original score composed by Kevin Kiner (CSI: Miami, Hell on Wheels, Jane the Virgin). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Making a Murderer is written and directed by Laura Ricciardi & Moira Demos and explores the story of Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in prison for rape and was freed after DNA linked another man to the crime. Soundtrack for Spike TV’s ‘Tut’ Released

Pickford Studios Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the Spike TV mini-series Tut. The album features the original music from the 6-parter written by Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Power, CSI: Cyber, The Returned). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Tut is directed by David Von Ancken and stars Avan Jogia, Ben Kingsley, Alexander Siddig, Peter Gadiot, Nonso Anozi, Iddo Goldberg, Sibylla Deen and Kylie Bunbury. The series tells the story of Tutankhamun, aka King Tut, the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization. The show’s original music is composed by Will Bates (Another Earth, I Origins, The Magicians). The composer duo of WAZ-Jackson (Scrubs, Cougar Town, Undateable) is composing the show’s original music. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) and Junkie XL (Deadpool, Mad Max: Fury Road, 300: Rise of an Empire). ‘Altamira’ Soundtrack Announced

EMI Records will release a soundtrack album for the period drama Altamira. The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Mark Knopfler, who previously scored such films as The Princess Bride and Wag the Dog, and Evelyn Glennie. The soundtrack will be released on April 1, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Altamira is directed by Hugh Hudson (Chariots of Fire) and stars Antonio Banderas, Golshifteh Farahani, Nicholas Farrel, Henry Goodman, Pierre Niney, Clément Sibony, Allegra Allen and Rupert Everett.
