Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1995 sci-fi drama Powder directed by Victor Salva and starring Mary Steenburgen, Sean Patrick Flanery, Jeff Goldbum and Lance Henriksen. The album features the film’s complete original score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Patton, Planet of the Apes, L.A. Confidential) performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, including 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Darling. The album features the film’s original music composed by Giona Ostinelli (Carnage Park, Pod). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 1, 2016 and physically within the following weeks. Darling is written and directed by Mickey Keating and stars Lauren Ashley Carter, Brian Morvant, Sean Young, Larry Fessenden, John Speredakos and Helen Rogers. Henry Jackman has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The film is directed by Edward Zwick (Glory, The Last Samurai, Legends of the Fall) and stars Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Aldis Hodge, Madalyn Horcher, Danika Yarosh, Patrick Heusinger, Holt McCallany and Robert Knepper. The movie is based on Lee Child’s book Never Go Back and follows the title character as he returns to the headquarters of his old unit, only to find out he’s now accused of a 16-year-old homicide. Zwick has also written the screenplay with Marshall Herskovitz based on an original script by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer). Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Making a Murderer. The album features the show’s themes composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, 21 Grams), as well as selections from the series’ original score composed by Kevin Kiner (CSI: Miami, Hell on Wheels, Jane the Virgin). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Making a Murderer is written and directed by Laura Ricciardi & Moira Demos and explores the story of Steven Avery, who spent 18 years in prison for rape and was freed after DNA linked another man to the crime. The album features the original music from the 6-parter written by Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Power, CSI: Cyber, The Returned). Tut is directed by David Von Ancken and stars Avan Jogia, Ben Kingsley, Alexander Siddig, Peter Gadiot, Nonso Anozi, Iddo Goldberg, Sibylla Deen and Kylie Bunbury.
