Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action epic The Odyssey written and directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Lupita Nyong’o,  John Leguizamo and Charlize Theron. The film’s original music is composed by Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, SinnersOppenheimerCreed, The Mandalorian & GroguTurning Red, TenetVenomCommunity). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s today and Mutant will release a CD and vinyl in the coming weeks. Opening in select theaters this weekend is the comedy drama Horsegirls written and directed by Lauren Meyering and starring Gretchen Mol, Lillian Carrier, Jerod Haynes, Tony Hale, Iqbal Theba and Matthew Schwab. Dan Romer (Luca, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Lilo & Stitch, Station ElevenBeasts of No Nation, Little House on the Prairie, Maniac, Superman & LoisBeasts of the Southern Wild, The Good Doctor)/has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in Los Angeles this weekend following a release last week in New York and before expanding to more U.S. markets in the coming weeks is the Israeli/Italian drama Reading Lolita in Tehran directed by Eran Riklis and starring Golshifteh Farahani, Zar Amir and Mina Kavani. The film’s original music is composed by Yonatan Riklis (Spider in the WebA Borrowed Identity, Shelter). D-Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last year when the movie opened in Israel.
