The full details of the soundtrack album for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four) who previously scored Singer’s X2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past and also serves as the editor and co-producer on the movie. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Kindergarten Cop 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jake Monaco (Let’s Be Cops, Playing It Cool, Struck by Lightning). Also included are the songs from the film by Sonny Cleveland, The Merced Blue Notes & The Phantom Blues Band. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Kindergarten Cop 2 is directed by Don Michael Paul and stars Dolph Lundgren, Bill Bellamy, Sarah Strange and Aleks Paunovic. BT is set to compose the score for the upcoming drama The Possibility of Fireflies. The film is directed by Deborah Chow (The High Cost of Living, Flowers in the Atticus) and stars Courtney Love & Joey King. The movie is based on Dominique Paul’s YA novel of the same title and follows a teen who dreams of becoming a writer and finds herself caught in the alluring undertow of a reckless rock ‘n’ roll freedom when she falls in love with an aspiring singer. Paul is also writing the screenplay. Amy Green is producing the project with Canadian musicians Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida who are also collaborating with BT on the film’s soundtrack. The Weinstein Company has announced that Klaus Badelt is composing the score for the upcoming animated feature Ballerina. Singer/songwriter Chris Braide is writing and producing original songs for the film, which is directed by Eric Summer & Eric Warin and features the voices of Elle Fanning, Maddie Ziegler and Carly Rae Jepsen. The movie is set in 1879 Paris and follows an orphan girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina and moves to Paris, where she passes for someone else and accedes to the position of pupil at the Grand Opera house. The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today that Steven Spielberg will present John Williams with the organization’s 44th Life Achievement Award on June 9, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA. As previously reported, this marks the first time in AFI history that the honor will be bestowed upon a composer. It was also announced that the televised special, AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to John Williams, will air on TNT on Wednesday, June 15 (10 p.m. ET/ PT), followed by an encore presentation on sister network Turner Classic Movies (TCM) on Monday, June 12, during a night of programming dedicated to Williams.

Bruno Coulais is scoring the upcoming biographical drama Marie Curie. The film is directed by Marie Noelle (The Anarchist’s Wife) and stars Karolina Gruszka in the title role, alongside Charles Berling, André Wilms, Samuel Finzi, Daniel Olbrychski and Sabin Tambrea. The movie tells the life story of Curie, the first-ever woman to win a Nobel Prize for her achievements in physics in 1903 and who later won another Nobel prize in chemistry in 1911.
