The show is premiering today on Wonder Project.
Wonder Project’s first original kids’ series, Fluff Piece, premiering July 9 on Wonder Project, will release a full soundtrack from the series’ first season on Friday, July 10 across Spotify, Apple Music, and all major music streaming platforms.
The new music-filled mystery series, designed for kids 2-6+ and their families, follows upbeat Happy Herald reporter Fiona Flash (Sylvia Brindis) and her animated sidekick dog and staff photographer, Fluff, as they investigate silly mysteries and rumors around town. The duo follows clues, checks facts, and discovers that things are rarely what they first seem. Young viewers—known as “Newshounds”—are invited to investigate alongside them, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and the joy of asking good questions.
Each episode features four recurring songs plus one new original song and music video, all written and composed by musician Devin Delaney of Chicago’s Noisefloor LTD. Jeffrey Ryan serves as co-songwriter. Season one features more than 15 original songs.
Delaney said, “I wanted memorable songs, written with a unique voice and point of view that are fun and entertaining for kids and adults alike, especially after many listens!”
The soundtrack’s catchy, concise songs run the gamut of genres. Delaney continued, “We lean into each genre with sincerity, all while maintaining a comedic, self-aware, yet polished production style.”
The series’ theme song pulls from Daft Punk, Neo Disco, Funk, and Bruno Mars with a touch of The Lonely Island and Weird Al. The recurring “Let’s Investigate/Work it Out” serves as a subtle nod to Delaney’s love of the Beatles and classic songwriters like Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder. And “The Happy Dance,” performed after Fiona and Fluff solve the case, is a sugar rush that pulls from modern kids’ TV and Top 40 bubblegum pop, with an infectious hook and unwavering positivity.
Inspiration for the new original songs featured across season one episodes ranges from punk rock to Broadway musical and piano pop to classic house, EDM, tongue-in-cheek 80s, angsty garage rock anthems and 90s boom bap hip-hop. Influences include everything from Florence and the Machine to Depeche Mode.
Delaney’s goal was to “use these touches of nostalgia to create something entertaining for parents that introduces this younger generation to these special genres and types of songs.”
