The album features the film’s original music composed by Leonard Küßner (Dear Future Children) and performed by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra. Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the the 1982 neo-noir mystery drama Hammett directed by Wim Wenders, executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Frederic Forrest, Peter Boyle, Marilu Henner and Roy Kinnear. The album features the newly remastered original music from the Zoetrope Studios production composed by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, The Man with the Golden Gun, Body Heat), including previously unreleased additional cues and alternate versions. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for Wim Wenders’ documentary Pope Francis: A Man of His Word. The album features the film’s original music composed by Laurent Petitgand who has previously scored the director’s 1993 feature Faraway, So Close!, 1995’s Beyond the Clouds and 2014’s The Salt of the Earth. Also included is the song These Are the Words by Patti Smith. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 18 and will be available to download on Amazon. Composer Laurent Petitgand is reuniting with director Wim Wenders on the upcoming documentary Pope Francis – A Man of His Word. The film sets out to present Pope Francis’ work of reform and his answers to today’s global questions, from his deep concern for the poor and wealth inequality, to his involvement in environmental issues and social justice. Wenders (Wings of Desire, Paris, Texas) is also producing the project with Samanta Gandolfi Branca, Alessandro Lo Monaco, Andrea Gambetta and David Rosier.
Fernando Velazquez Scoring Wim Wenders’ ‘Submergence’
Fernando Velazquez is composing the music for the upcoming romantic thriller Submergence. The film is directed by Wim Wenders (Buena Vista Social Club, Wings of Desire, Pina) and stars James McAvoy, Alicia Vikander, Charlotte Rampling and Alexander Siddig. The movie is based on the novel by J.M. Ledgard and tells the story of a water engineer who is taken hostage in Somalia by Jihadist fighters who suspect that he is a British spy. Erin Dignam (The Yellow Handkerchief, The Last Face) wrote the screenplay. Cameron Lamb (Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter, Syrup) is producing the project for Lila 9th Productions with Neue Road Movie Dritte Produktionen.

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Our Last Tango. The album features the film’s original music by Luis Borda, Sexteto Mayor and Gerd Baumann. Alexandre Desplat is composing the score for the upcoming drama Every Thing Will Be Fine. The film is directed by Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas, Buena Vista Social Club, Wings of Desire) and stars James Franco, Rachel McAdams, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Robert Naylor. The movie, which was shot in 3D, centers on a writer who accidentally causes the death of a child and follows him through the next twelve years, searching for the footprints of the accident on his life, as well as on the life of the child’s mother. Bjørn-Olaf Johannessen has written the screenplay.
