West Dylan Thordson has composed the original score for the upcoming psychological thriller Split. The film is written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable) and stars James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson. The movie centers around a man who endures a major loss and becomes compelled to abduct three teenage girls. ‘Brice 3’ Soundtrack Details

Polydor Records will release a soundtrack album for the French comedy Brice 3. The album features the songs from the movie by lead actor Jean Dujardin, The Bech Boys, Andrew Gold, Carl Douglas, The Trashmen, Jan & Dean, Freddy Meyer & more. Also included is the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers, Song of the Sea) who previously scored the 2005 original film Brice De Nice. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 14, 2016. Brice 3 is directed by James Huth and stars Dujardin, Clovis Cornillac, Bruno Salomone and Alban Lenoir. The event presented by Education Through Music–Los Angeles member Angel Velez will take place at 7pm at the Malibu Screening Room and will be preceded by with a pre-concert interview and reception at 6pm featuring a discussion with the composers, moderated by Varèse Sarabande’s Robert Townson. Premiering tonight is the new HBO original series Westworld created by Jonathan Nolan & Lisa Joy based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 film and starring Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Tessa Thompson, and Sidse Babett Knudsen. The show’s original music is composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Person of Interest, The Strain). Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have been hired to score the upcoming drama Patriots Day. The film is directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon) and stars Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan, Jimmy O. Yang, Vince Curatola and James Colby. The movie tells the story of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis’s actions in the events leading up to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists behind it. Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) has written the screenplay. Scott Stuber (Ted, Role Models, Safe House), Wahlberg, Hutch Parker (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine), Dylan Clark (Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Stephen Levinson (Entourage, The Gambler), Dorothy Aufiero (The Fighter) and Michael Radutzky are producing the project. Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the fantasy adventure Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children directed by Tim Burton and starring Eva Green, Asa Butterfield and Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s original music is composed by Mike Higham & Matthew Margeson (Eddie the Eagle, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kick-Ass 2). A soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score will be released digitally within the next few weeks and physically on October 11 on La-La Land Records’ website and October 14 in other stores. Songs from Fox’s ‘Family Guy’ to Be Released

Beginning today, 20th Century Fox TV Records is releasing a batch of digital song singles from the Fox hit television series Family Guy. Starting with the Family Guy Main Title, composed by Walter Murphy, Seth MacFarlane and David Zuckerman, songs will be released every other week during the course of the season. Songs coming out this fall include a few of the most requested ones, including A Bag of Weed, The FCC Song, and the Emmy-nominated songs You’ve Got a Lot to See and Down’s Syndrome Girl. Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman have been tapped to score the new CW comedy drama No Tomorrow. The show is created by Corinne Brinkerhoff (American Gothic, Jane The Virgin, The Good Wife) and stars Tori Anderson, Joshua Sasse, Jesse Rath, Amy Pietz, Sarayu Blue and Jonathan Langdon. The series follows a risk-averse procurement manager who falls for a handsome guy who has no job because his mathematical equation proves the world is ending in less than nine months. Brinkerhoff is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television production with Maggie Friedman (Witches of East End), Grace Gilroy (The Fog, Bride of Chucky), Ben Silverman (The Office) and Brad Silberling (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Casper) who also directed the pilot episode. Angelo Badalamenti Featured in ‘Twin Peaks’ Teaser

Showtime has released a new teaser trailer for the revival of Twin Peaks. The teaser features composer Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, The Beach) playing his theme for the classic television show on the piano. The composer is on board to score the follow-up series. Check out the video after the jump. The new season of Twin Peaks is written and produced David Lynch & Mark Frost and is directed entirely by Lynch. The show picks up 25 years after the original series, which followed the FBI investigation conducted by special agent Dale Cooper into the murder of Laura Palmer in the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington. ‘Bulletproof Love’ from Netflix’s ‘Luke Cage’ Released

Hollywood Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for Marvel’s Netflix original series Luke Cage. The song, entitled Bulletproof Love by Adrian Yoynge and A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad (feat. Method Man) is now available to download on Amazon.
