Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the BBC America original series Orphan Black. The DNA Sampler features a number of songs as heard in the five-year run of the show by artists including The Ettes, The Belle Game, Eileen, (International) Noise Conspiracy, Dr. V feat. Ted Hawkins, Hooded Fang and Arya, as well as exclusive tracks created for the series. The soundtrack will be released on December 8, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ABC has announced that Sub Pop Records will release music from the ABC comedy The Major every Friday, preceding each Tuesday night episode throughout the season. The first two tracks, Right Here from the pilot episode is now available to download on iTunes and the song Brokenomics from The Filibuster episode can be downloaded here. The songs are performed by Brandon Micheal Hall (aka Courtney Rose) and members of the cast, written by Daveed Diggs, William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes (of the group Clipping). Carter Burwell is set to reteam with the Coen Brothers on the upcoming Netflix original series The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. The show is written and directed by Joel & Ethan Coen and stars Tim Blake Nelson, James Franco, Zoe Kazan, Tyne Daly, Ralph Ineson and Stephen Root. The western anthology series will feature six tales about the American frontier. Each chapter will feature a distinct story about the American West. Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenenbaums, 21/22 Jump Street). Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) has signed on to score the upcoming biographical drama Young Astrid. The film is directed by Pernille Fischer Christensen (A Soap, A Family) and stars Alba August in the title role, alongside Maria Bonnevie, Magnus Krepper, Trine Dyrholm, Henrik Rafaelsen and Björn Gustafsson. The movie focuses on an event that occurred when Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren was very young and that came to shape her adult life, writing talent and aspirations.
