The full details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller The Commuter have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead, The Machinist, Risen, Oldboy, Sexy Beast). The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the horror thriller Insidious: The Last Key directed by Adam Robitel, written by Leigh Whannell, produced by Jason Blum and starring Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell, Josh Stewart, Caitlin Gerard, Kirk Acevedo, Javier Botet, Bruce Davison, Spencer Locke and Tessa Ferrer. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle, Dark Skies) who previously scored the first three installments in the series. Opening in limited release is the horror movie Day of the Dead: Bloodline directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens and starring Johnathon Schaech, Sophie Skelton, Marcus Vanco and Jeff Gum. Frederik Wiedmann (Field of Lost Shoes, Dying of the Light, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hangman) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Dickon Hinchliffe is reuniting with director Debra Granik on the upcoming indie drama Leave No Trace. The film starring Ben Foster, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Jeff Kober and Dale Dickey is based on the book My Abandonment by Peter Rock. Granik also co-wrote the screenplay with Anne Rosellini who is also producing the project with Anne Harrison (The Danish Girl, Two Family House) and Linda Reisman (Affliction, Waking the Dead). Milan Records has released the first soundtrack album for the Fox drama The Exorcist. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, John Wick, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen). Also included is the series’ main titles theme written by Daniel Hart (Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Exorcist is developed by Jeremy Slater and stars Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Kurt Egyiawa and John Cho. David Newman has signed on to score the upcoming comedy Night School. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man, Undercover Brother) and stars Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Yvonne Orji, Rob Riggle, Taran Killam, Ben Schwartz, Yvonne Orji, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Keith David and Anne Winters. The movie follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the longshot chance they’ll pass the GED exam. Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man, Roots) is producing the project with Hart. Alex Heffes has composed the original score for the first couple of episodes of the new ITV drama Next of Kin. The show is created by Paul Rutman (Indian Summers, Vera) & Natasha Narayan and stars Archie Panjabi and Jack Davenport. The 6-part series follows a Mona, a whip-smart GP who lives in London with a political lobbyist husband. Their family life is shattered when Mona’s brother is brutally murdered while working for a medical charity abroad. Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) has directed the first three episodes.
