Premiering in the U.S. today is the BBC movie The Child in Time directed by Julian Farino and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Kelly Macdonald, Stephen Campbell Moore and Saskia Reeves. The film’s original music is composed by Adrian Johnston (Becoming Jane, Brideshead Revisited, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Kinky Boots). Also premiering tonight is the NBC television event Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert executive produced by Webber, Rice, Marc Platt, Craig Zadan & Neil Meron. Sony Masterworks Broadway will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the TV special written by Andrew Llyod Webber and Tim Rice and performed by John Legend, Alice Cooper, Sara Bareilles and other cast members this coming Friday. Warner Bros. Records has released Andra Day‘s cover version of the Nina Simone song I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free as featured in Tyler Perry’s psychological thriller Acrimony. The song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Listen to the full track after the jump. Acrimony written and directed by Perry and starring Taraji P. Henson, Lyriq Bent, Ajiona Alexus and Antonio Madison follows a faithful wife tired of standing by her devious husband who is enraged when it becomes clear she has been betrayed. Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Already in theaters since Thursday is the movie adaptation of Ready Player One directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tye Sheridan, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg, Mark Rylance and Olivia Cooke. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the album details). The label has also released a separate soundtrack featuring a selection of songs from the movie (click here for more information).
Also opening nationwide is the thriller Acrimony written and directed by Tyler Perry and starring Taraji P. Henson, Lyriq Bent, Ajiona Alexus and Antonio Madison. Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Horrible Bosses, Baywatch, Lost in Space, Supernatural) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a release of the score. Warner Bros. ‘7 Days in Entebbe’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller 7 Days in Entebbe. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brazilian singer/songwriter Rodrigo Amarante who is known for his theme song from the Netflix series Narcos and has made his film scoring debut on the project. Also included is The Tractor’s Revenge & Ohad Naharin’s rendition of Chair Dance (Echad mi Yodeah). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 6, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is also in the works. 7 Days in Entebbe is directed by José Padilha and stars Rosamund Pike, Daniel Brühl, Eddie Marsan, Ben Schnetzer, Lior Ashkenazi and Denis Ménochet.
