The full details of the soundtrack album for the Coen Brothers’ Netflix original movie The Ballad of Buster Scruggs have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Twilight, True Grit). Also included is the original song When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings written by David Rawlings & Gillian Welch and performed by Willie Watson & Tim Blake Nelson, as well as other songs from the movie. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the action thriller Hunter Killer directed by Donovan Marsh and starring Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Common, Linda Cardellini and Toby Stephens. The film’s original music is composed by Trevor Morris (Immortals, Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Vikings, The Borgias). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the action comedy Johnny English Strikes Again directed by David Kerr and starring Rowan Atkinson, Ben Miller, Olga Kurylenko, Emma Thompson and Jake Lacy. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Golden Globe nominee Reinhold Heil (Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, The International, One Hour Photo, Berlin Station).
