Joseph Shirley & Ludwig Goransson have been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Bad Trip. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show) and stars Eric Andre, Lil Rel Howery and Tiffany Haddish. The movie follows two best friends who go on a cross-country road trip full of inventive pranks, pulling its real-life audience into the mayhem. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Far from Home. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Star Trek, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) who previously scored Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and Doctor Strange. Netflix has announced today that Branford Marsalis is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The film is directed by George C. Wolfe (Lackawanna Blues) and stars Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo and Michael Potts. The film is based on the award-winning play by August Wilson (Fences) and centers on Ma Rainey, the “Queen of the Blues,” as she makes a record in a studio in Chicago, 1927, when tensions boil between her, her white agent and producer, and bandmates.
