Premiering in the U.S. today is the mini-series War of the Worlds created by Howard Overman based on H.G. Wells’ novel of the same name and starring Gabriel Byrne, Elizabeth McGovern, Léa Drucker, Adel Bencherif, Emilie de Preissac, Natasha Little, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ty Tennant. The show’s original music is composed by David Martijn (De Dag, The Twelve). The 8-parter, which follows a group of astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, premiered in Europe last fall, is making its U.S. debut on Epix. Also premiering tonight is the Fox animated comedy Duncanville created by Mike Scully, Julie Scully & Amy Poehler and starring Poehler herself, Ty Burrell, Riki Lindhome, Betsy Sodaro, Yassir Lester and Zach Cherry. John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space, The Following, Beavis and Butthead Do America) is composing the show’s original music. Universal Records has released the first two soundtracks for the new NBC comedy drama Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. The EPs feature the songs from the first two episodes of the show performed by cast members including Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher, Stephanie Styles and Michael Thomas Grant.Click here to download/stream the songs from Episode 1 and visit Amazon for the songs from Episode 2. More EPs with songs from each episode will be released weekly. Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is created by Austin Winsberg and  also stars Jane Levy, Alex Newell and Mary Steenburgen. Stefan Wesolowski to Score Nathalie Biancheri’s ‘Wolf’

Polish composer and violinist Stefan Wesolowski has announced this week that he will be scoring the upcoming drama Wolf. The film is written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri (Nocturnal) and stars George MacKay and Lily-Rose Depp. The movie is set in a world in which people believe they are an animal trapped in a human body and follows a man who believes he is a wolf trapped in a human body. Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the live-action adventure comedy Sonic the Hedgehog directed by Jeff Fowler and starring James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Neal McDonough, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey. The film’s original music is composed by  Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel, Terminator: Dark Fate). Paramount Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally today. La-La Land Records will release a CD version soon. Also opening wide is the supernatural horror thriller Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island directed by Jeff Wadlow and starring Michael Peña, Maggie Q, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Jimmy O. Yang, Portia Doubleday, Ryan Hansen and Michael Rooker. Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) has composed the film’s original music. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. ‘A Simple Wedding’ Soundtrack Released

The album features the film’s original music composed by Nima Fakhrara (The Signal, Detroit: Become Human, The Pyramid, The Girl in the Photographs). John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak, Office Space, Beavis and Butthead Do America) is composing the original score for the new Fox animated comedy Duncanville. The show is created by Mike Scully (The Simpsons), Julie Scully & Amy Poehler and stars Poehler herself, Ty Burrell, Riki Lindhome, Betsy Sodaro, Yassir Lester and Zach Cherry. Rashida Jones, Wiz Khalifa and Joy Osmanski are guest starring. The series centers around a spectacularly average 15-year-old boy with a rich fantasy life, and the people in his world. Mike and Julie Scully & Poehler are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television, Universal Television and FOX Entertainment production with Dave Becky (Master of None, Baskets). The song is written and performed by Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Billie Eilish and produced by her brother FINNEAS alongside Stephen Lipson. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu original series High Fidelity. The album features a selection of songs from the show’s first season by such artists as Thomas Doherty, Blondie, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Darondo, Dexys Midnight Runners, William Onyeabor, Ann Peebles and Silk Rhodes. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 14 and will be available to stream/download here. High Fidelity is developed by Sarah Kucserka & Veronica West based on Nick Hornby’s 1995 book and Stephen Frears’ 2000 feature and stars Zoë Kravitz, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H.
