The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the thriller Let Him Go written and directed by Thomas Bezucha and starring Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Lesley Manville, Booboo Stewart, Kayli Carter and Will Brittain. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Star Trek, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD,  next Tuesday, November 10, is the drama Jungleland directed by Max Winkler and starring Charlie Hunnam, Jack O’Connell and Jessica Barden. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, His Dark Materials, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, Gemini Man) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Nathan Larson to Score Carter Bays’ & Craig Thomas’ ‘Molly and the Moon’

Nathan Larson (Boys Don’t Cry, Dirty Pretty Things, Margin Call, Juliet, Naked) is set to compose the score for the upcoming original movie musical Molly and the Moon. The film is directed by Carter Bays & Craig Thomas (How I Met Your Mother) and is set to star Kristen Bell and Jonathan Groff. Harvey Mason Jr (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Story, All Rise) will serve as executive music producer and Stephanie Diaz-Matos (The Get Down, Uncle Drew) is the project’s music supervisor. Bays and Thomas are also producing the film with Levantine Films’ Jared Ian Goldman (Wilson, Ingrid Goes West) and Renee Witt. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Triggered’ Soundtrack Released

Pressure Cooker Music has released a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Triggered. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jason van Wyk and Andries Smit (Vagrant Queen, House on Willow Street, An Elephant’s Journey) . The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Apple Music/iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples Triggered is directed by Alastair Orr and stars Reine Swart, Liesl Ahlers, Russel Crous, Steven John Ward, Cameron Scott, Paige Bonnin, Kayla Privett, Suraya Rose Santos, Michael Lawrence Potter, Sean Cameron Michael and Craig Urbani. ‘News of the World’ Soundtrack Album Details

Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the western News of the World. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Signs, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Village, The Fugitive). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically this December. News of the World is co-written and directed by Paul Greengrass and stars Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel. The movie is set five years after the end of the Civil War and follows a widower and veteran of three wars who moves from town to town as a non-fiction storyteller, sharing the news of presidents and queens, glorious feuds, devastating catastrophes, and gripping adventures from the far reaches of the globe. ‘The Capture’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC drama The Capture. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Blur drummer Dave Rowntree and Ian Arber (Medici, My Name Is Lenny, After the Screaming Stops). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 20 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. The Capture is written and directed by Ben Chanan and stars Callum Turner, Holliday Grainger, Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen, Ben Miles, Ralph Ineson, Paul Ritter, Lia Williams and Laura Haddock. The spy thriller is set in our contemporary world of digital surveillance and follows a soldier who returns to life as a free man with his young daughter after a conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence. The album features the film’s original score composed by Patrick Neil Doyle (The Legend of Longwood, Kepler’s Dream, The Moonstone), as well as the movie’s songs by K.T. Wild. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. A Christmas Gift from Bob is directed by Charles Martin Smith and stars Luke Treadaway, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Phaldut Sharma, Tim Plester, Nina Wadia, Pepter Lunkuse, Celyn Jones and Anna Wilson-Jones, as well as Bob the Cat. Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and guitarist Keb’ Mo’ has recorded the main title song for the new CBS comedy B Positive created by Marco Pennette (Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty), executive produced by Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, The Kominsky Method) and stars Thomas Middleditch, Annaleigh Ashford, Kether Donohue, Sara Rue, Izzy G and Terrence Terrell. He also co-wrote the track with Lorre. The show’s original score is composed by Dennis C. Brown & Grant Geissman who previously collaborated with Lorre on such shows as Two and a Half Men, Dharma & Greg and Mike & Molly. The series revolves around a therapist and newly divorced dad who is faced with finding a kidney donor when he runs into a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past who volunteers her own. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King,  The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception) and Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, His Dark Materials). Rebuilding Paradise is directed by Ron Howard and tells the story of the Paradise community as they begin to rebuild their lives following the most destructive wildfire in California history. Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Disney+ original movie Clouds. The album features the film’s original score composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Crazy Rich Asians, Now You See Me, Yellowstone, Avengers: Age of Ultron). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. Interscope Records has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, as well as a score suite last month. Clouds is directed by Justin Baldoni and stars Fin Argus, Sabrina Carpenter, Neve Campbell, Madison Iseman, Tom Everett Scott, Dylan Everett, Lil Rel Howery, Endicott Douglas and Summer H. Howell.
