The album features from and inspired by the film by Miles Davis, including a previously unreleased recording, Hail To the Real Chief. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on February 21, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool is directed and produced by Stanley Nelson and centers on the life and career of the musical and cultural icon who defied categorization and embodied the word cool. Russ Davies is set to score the upcoming BBC America original series The Watch. The show is developed by Simon Allen (The Musketeers) based on Sir Terry Pratchett’s bestselling Discworld novels and stars Richard Dormer, Adam Hugill, Jo Eaton-Kent, Marama Corlett, Lara Rossi and Sam Adewunmi. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Like a Boss directed by Miguel Arteta and starring Tiffany Haddish, Rose Byrne, Salma Hayek, Billy Porter, Jennifer Coolidge, Ari Graynor, Natasha Rothwell, Jessica St. Clair and Karan Soni. The film’s original score is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow) & Jake Monaco (Let’s Be Cops, Dumplin’). Also opening wide is the sci-fi horror movie Underwater directed by William Eubank and starring Kristen Stewart, T.J. Miller, Vincent Cassel, John Gallagher Jr., Jessica Henwick, Mamoudou Athie and Gunner Wright. Marco Beltrami (Logan, 3:10 to Yuma, A Quiet Place, Scream) and Brandon Roberts (Free Solo, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) have composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released the original song Original from the family comedy Dolittle. The track is performed by Sia who also co-wrote it with Sean Douglas & Jesse Shatkin. The show is developed by Glen Mazzara based on Stephen King’s book of the same title and stars Sam Strike, Jasper Pääkkönen, Michael Rooker, Jerome Flynn and Joana Ribeiro. Rickey Minor to Return as Oscar Music Director

Academy Awards producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Stephanie Allain today announced today that Rickey Minor will return as the music director for this year’s 92nd Oscars. He previously served in the role on last year’s show and follows composers including Bill Conti, Marc Shaiman, William Ross and Harold Wheeler who have previously been selected as music directors. Minor has received eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Music Direction and won the award in 2017 for Taking the Stage: African American Music and Stories That Changed America. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Marona’s Fantastic Tale (L’extraordinaire voyage de Marona). The album features the film’s original music composed by Pablo Pico (Adama, Saving Sally). The soundtrack is now available to stream and download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Marona’s Fantastic Tale is directed by Anca Damian and centers on a mixed-breed Labrador whose life leaves deep traces among the humans she encounters as she reflects on all the homes and different experiences she’s had after an accident. We The Best Music Group and Epic Records have announced the details of the soundtrack album for the action comedy Bad Boys for Life. The album features a selection of songs from the movie by artists including Meek Mill, Jaden, The Black Eyed Peas & J Balvin, Pitbull & Lil Jon, City Girls, Rick Ross, DJ Durel & others. DJ Khaled serves as the executive producer of the soundtrack, which will be released on January 17 and is now available for pre-order here.
