Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, Candy, Sanctuary, A Small Light, A Friend of the Family, A Friend of the Family, The Tale) has been tapped to score the upcoming Paramount+ original series Happy Face. The show is inspired by the Happy Face true-crime podcast and stars Annaleigh Ashford, Dennis Quaid, James Wolk, Khiyla Aynne, Tamera Tomakili and Benjamin Mackey. The 8-part crime drama is based on the the true-life story of Melissa G. Moore and her incarcerated father, known as the Happy Face Killer who – after decades of no contact – finally finds a way to force himself back into the life of her daughter who must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed.

Dominik Scherrer Scoring BBC’s ‘Miss Austen’
Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, The Tourist, The Widow, Baptiste, Primeval, The Serpent, Ripper Street, The Confessions of Frannie Langton) has provided the original score for the new BBC drama Miss Austen. The show is written by Andrea Gibb (Dear Frankie, Swallows and Amazons) based on Gill Hornby’s bestselling novel and stars Keeley Hawes, Rose Leslie, Synnøve Karlsen, Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Alfred Enoch, Max Irons, Jessica Hynes, Mirren Mack, Calam Lynch, Kevin McNally and Liv Hill. The 4-part period drama directed by Aisling Walsh (Maudie) reimagines the historic literary mystery of the notorious burning of Jane Austen’s letters by her sister Cassandra.

Premiering tonight is the new CBS drama Watson developed by Craig Sweeny and starring Morris Chestnut, Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coster and Rochelle Aytes. The show’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Boston Strangler, Tales from the Loop, Wormwood). The series, which takes place six months after the death of the title character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty and follows Dr. John Watson as he resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders, will air Sunday nights on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
Premiering on Tuesday, January 28, is the Hulu original series Paradise created by Dan Fogelman and starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Aliyah Mastin, Sarah Shahi, Percy Daggs IV and Nicole Brydon Bloom. Siddhartha Khosla (Only Murders in the Building, This Is Us, The Idea of You, Rabbit Hole, Welcome to Chippendales, Queenpins, Looking for Alaska) has composed the show’s original music. ‘Mo’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Released
Netflix Music has released a new soundtrack album for the streamer’s original series Mo. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Common, Karriem Riggins and Patrick Warren ( The Chi, The Old Man, Alice). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the artists’ first track (Mo’s Dream) below. The label has previously released an EP featuring the trio’s score from the first season back in 2022. Mo is created by Mohammed Amer & Ramy Youssef and stars Amer himself, Teresa Ruiz, Farah Bsieso, Tobe Nwigwe, Simon Rex, Omar Elba, Johanna Braddy and Kamel El Basha.

Matt Wolf’s ‘Pee-wee as Himself’ to Feature Music by Jon Brion & Michael Penn
Jon Brion (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, Lady Bird, Paranormal) and Michael Penn (Girls, Boogie Nights, Masters of Sex, Sunshine Cleaning, The Last Kiss) have contributed original music to the upcoming documentary Pee-wee as Himself. The 2-part film is directed by Matt Wolf (Spaceship Earth) and chronicles the life of artist and performer Paul Reubens and his alter ego Pee-wee Herman. The movie features interviews with Reubens recorded prior to his recent death, revealing his creative influences and the personal struggles he faced to persevere as an artist.
David Fleming Scoring ‘Bucks County, USA’ Documentary Series
David Fleming (The Last of Us, Jim Henson: Idea Man, Damsel, The Unforgivable, Hillbilly Elegy, Blue Planet II, The Night Logan Woke Up, The Perfect Guy) is scoring the upcoming documentary series Bucks County, USA. The show is directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning, Vietnam) & Robert May (Kids for Cash) and focuses on two 14-year-olds living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, who are best friends despite their opposing political beliefs. The 5-parter follows the girls and others in their community as they fight to discover the humanity in “the other side” when nationwide disputes over public education explode into division in their hometown.
