Rupert Parkes (aka Photek) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original film The Main Event. The movie is directed by Jay Karas (Break Point) and stars Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Adam Pally, Ken Marino, as well as WWE superstars Kofi Kingston, Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, Sheamus, and Babatunde Aiyegbusi. The family comedy centers on a young WWE fan possessing special powers from a magical mask who causes chaos when he enters a wrestling competition and fights an intimidating rival. Larry Postel and Zach Lewis & Jim Mahoney (Klaus) wrote the screenplay.

Soundtrack Album for Dan Gabriel’s ‘Mosul’ Documentary to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Mosul. The album features the film’s original music written by Grammy-nominated British record producer and composer Photek (How to Get Away with Murder, Station 19, Gang Related). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, July 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Mosul is directed by Dan Gabriel and follows a diverse group of militias and security forces with conflicting interests which banded together in 2016 to free Mosul and its population of 1.3 million from the harsh rule of ISIS. The documentary was released this past May by Gravitas Ventures and is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original series Barry created by Bill Hader & Alec Berg and starring Hader himself, alongside Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan and Glenn Fleshler. The show’s original music is composed by David Wingo (Loving, Mud, Midnight Special, Take Shelter). James Lavelle & Jack Leonard of the British music collective UNKLE have composed the show’s original music. Photek Scoring ‘Life in a Year’
Photek is composing the score for the upcoming romantic drama Life in a Year. The film is directed by Mitja Okorn (Letters to Santa, Planeta Singli) and stars Jaden Smith, Cara Delevingne, Cuba Gooding Jr., Chris D’Elia and Nia Long. The movie follows a 17-year-old boy who is determined to give his dying girlfriend their entire life together, in the year she has left. Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews wrote the screenplay. Marc Bienstock (Split, The Visit) is producing the project with Will Smith’s & James Lassiter’s Overbrook Entertainment (I Am Legend, The Karate Kid, The Pursuit of Happiness).

Premiering tomorrow, May 29, is the new ABC drama Still Star-Crossed created by Heather Mitchell, executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and starring Grant Bowler, Wade Briggs, Torrance Coombs, Dan Hildebrand, Lashana Lynch, Ebonee Noel, Medalion Rahimi, Zuleikha Robinson, Sterling Sulieman, Susan Wooldridge and Anthony Head. The show’s original music is composed by Photek who also scores the Rhimes-produced ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder. The series picks up where the famous story of Romeo and Juliet ends, charting the treachery, fight for power and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. Photek Scoring ‘The Loner’
Photek is composing the music for the upcoming indie drama The Loner. The film is written and directed by Daniel Grove and stars Reza Sixo Safai, Helena Mattsson, Parviz Sayyad, Julian Sands, Laura Harring and Dominic Rains. The movie follows a reformed mobster who is haunted by memories of being a child soldier in Iran in the 1980s as he pursues the American Dream in Los Angeles. Seth Caplan (In Search of a Midnight Kiss, The Young Kieslowski) is producing the project with Safai.
‘How to Get Away with Murder’ Soundtrack Announced
Hollywood Records will release the first soundtrack album for the ABC hit drama How to Get Away with Murder. The album features a selection of songs from the show by artists including IAMX, Hot Chip, Zella Day, Naughty Boy, Avid Dancer, The Acid, Chelsea Wolfe & more. Also included is a track by the series’ composer Photek. The soundtrack will be released on March 11, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. How to Get Away with Murder is created by Peter Nowalk, executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and stars Viola Davis, Billy Brown, Alfred Enoch, Jack Falahee, Katie Findlay, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Karla Souza, Charlie Weber and Liza Weil.

The show’s original music is composed by Photek (Dreamland) who is best known as a record producer and DJ and who has done remixes for Nine Inch Nails, Moby, Lana Del Rey, David Bowie, Bjork and more. Photek to Score Fox’s ‘Gang Related’
Photek is composing the music for the upcoming Fox drama Gang Related. The show is created by Chris Morgan (Fast Five, Wanted) and stars Ramon Rodriguez, RZA, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Terry O’Quinn, Shantel VanSanten, Cliff Curtis and Jay Hernandez. The series follows a rising star in Los Angeles’ elite Gang Task Force who teams up with a longtime Task Force member to take on the city’s most dangerous gangs, including one he has an allegiance to. Morgan is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment production with Scott Rosenbaum (The Shield, Chuck), Brian Grazer (24, Friday Night Lights, A Beautiful Mind) and Francie Calfo (The Great Escape, The Playboy Club). Allen Hughes (The Book of Eli, From Hell) directed and served as an executive producer on the pilot episode.
