Michael Brook has composed the score for the upcoming family drama Milton’s Secret. The film is directed by Barnet Bain and stars Donald Sutherland, Michelle Rodriguez, William Ainscough, David Sutcliffe, Mia Kirshner, Sheila McCarthy and Hays Wellford. The movie is based on the children’s novel of the same title by Eckhart Tolle & Robert Friedman and revolves around an eight-year-old who is bullied at school and his teacher who is trying to lift his spirits while his grandfather shows him the secret to finding true happiness.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action thriller Jason Bourne directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones. The film’s original music is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Happy Feet) who previously scored the first original three films in the series and David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Nice Guys, The Forbidden Kingdom). Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Ride Along) has composed the film’s original music and collaborated with singer/songwriter KT Tunstall on his score. ‘Tallulah’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for the indie drama Tallulah have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Brook (Brooklyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Into the Wild, The Fighter, The Vow). Also included are the songs I’m Gone Mama by Jim Murphy & The Accents, No Trespassing Blues by Jesus Sons and Baby Where You Are by Ted Lucas. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 29 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Tallulah is written and directed by Sian Heder and stars Ellen Page, Allison Janney, Tammy Blanchard, Evan Jonigkeit and Uzo Aduba. The movie follows a young drifter searching for her ex-boyfriend who impulsively kidnaps a baby from a neglectful mother and pretends the child is her own.
Michael Brook to Score Katie Holmes’ ‘All We Had’
Michael Brook has been hired to score the upcoming indie drama All We Had. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress Katie Holmes who also stars in the film alongside Stefania Owen,Luke Wilson, Richard Kind, Mark Consuelos, Judy Greer and Eve Lindley. The movie is based on a novel by Annie Weatherwax and follows a mother and her daughter, living on the edge of poverty, who find an unlikely home amid the quirky residents of small town America. Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars, Stuck in Love) and Jill Killington have written the screenplay. Holmes is also producing the project with Jane Rosenthal (Meet the Parents, Analyze This, About a Boy), Berry Welsh and Katie Mustard (Shelter, We’ll Never Have Paris).
‘Journey to Mecca’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the IMAX documentary Journey to Mecca. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Brook (Brooklyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Into the Wild, The Vow, The Fighter). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 18, 2016 and physically on April 8. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Journey to Mecca is narrated by Ben Kingsley and tells the story of Ibn Battuta, the greatest explorer of the Old World, following his first pilgrimage between 1325 and 1326 from Tangier to Mecca. Bruce Neibar has directed the film.

The film is written and directed by Sian Heder (Orange Is the New Black) and stars Ellen Page, Allison Janney, Tammy Blanchard, Evan Jonigkeit and Uzo Aduba. The movie follows a rootless young woman who takes a toddler from a wealthy, negligent mother and passes the baby off as her own in an effort to protect her. Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Mrs. Doubtfire) is producing the project with Heather Rae (Frozen River, Ass Backwards), Russell Levine and Todd Traina.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the drama Brooklyn have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Brook (Into the Wild, The Fighter, Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Vow). The soundtrack will be released on November 6, 2015 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Brooklyn is directed by John Crowley, written by Nick Hornby based on the novel by Colm Toibin and stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson, Emory Cohen, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters. The movie follows a young Irish immigrant who is navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn and must confront a terrible dilemma – a choice between two men and two countries, between duty and true love.
Michael Brook Scoring ‘About Ray’
Michael Brook is composing the music for the upcoming indie drama About Ray. The film is directed by Gaby Dellal (Angels Crest, On a Clear Day) and stars Naomi Watts, Elle Fanning, Susan Sarandon, Tate Donovan, Sam Trammell and Linda Emond. The movie centers on a New York teenager seeking to transition from female to male and the relationship with her single mother who is coming to terms with having to raise her only daughter as a son. Dellal has also co-written the screenplay with Nikole Beckwith (Stockholm, Pennsylvania) and is also producing the project with Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, Away We Go, Safety Not Guaranteed) and Dorothy Berwin.

Opening in most theaters is the mystery adventure Tomorrowland directed by Brad Bird and starring George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan Michael-Key and Thomas Robinson. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Star Trek, Up, The Incredibles, Lost, Ratatouille).
