Premiering this Friday, April 12, is the historical fantasy series Da Vinci’s Demons created by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) and starring Tom Riley, Laura Haddock, Lucrezia Donati, Elliot Cowan, Lorenzo Medici and Lara Pulver. Bear McCreary has composed an orchestral score for the eight-part series, which tells the untold story of the world’s greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Premiering tomorrow night is the new drama Monday Mornings created by David E. Kelley and starring Alfred Molina, Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao and Emily Swallow. The show’s music is composed by Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy) who has previously worked with Kelley on such shows as Ally McBeal and Boston Legal. Terence Blanchard Scoring ‘Betty and Coretta’
Golden Globe-nominated composer Terence Blanchard has composed the score for the new Lifetime original movie Betty and Coretta. The film directed by Yves Simoneau (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) tells the dual stories of Coretta Scott King and Dr. Betty Shabazz as they carry on as single mothers following the assassinations of their husbands, Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Angela Bassett plays Coretta King, while Mary J. Blige portays Betty Shabazz. Ruby Dee,Malik Yoba, Lindsay Owne Pierre, Gloria Reuben, Cherise Booth and Shinelle Azoroh are co-starring. Shem Bitterman & Ron Hutchinson (The Josephine Baker Story) have written the script and Blige is executive producing the project with Larry Sanitsky, Jaja Johnson and Polly Anthony. Blanchard has previously scored the similarly themed drama Malcolm X for director Spike Lee.

Premiering tomorrow night is the new Fox drama The Following created by Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek) and starring Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Jeananne Goossen, Maggie Grace, Natalie Zea, Adan Canto, Nico Tortorella and Shawn Ashmore. The show’s music is composed by John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, Dante’s Peak). The series follows an ex-FBI agent who is recruited to recapture an escaped serial killer. Premiering tonight is the Lifetime original movie Liz & Dick directed by Llyod Kramer and starring Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor, Grant Bowler as Richard Burton, as well as Creed Bratton, Theresa Russell, David Hunt and David Eigenberg. A couple of new shows are premiering on the major networks this week:
Premiering on Wednesday, October 10 is the superhero drama Arrow based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Mark Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg and starring Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Susanna Thompson, Willa Holland and Colin Salmon. The show’s score is composed by Blake Neely (The Mentalist, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters). The composer recorded the music for the pilot with a full 80 piece orchestra at the Warner Bros. Terence Blanchard Scoring ‘Abducted: The Carlina White Story’
Terence Blanchard has composed the score for the Lifetime original movie Abducted: The Carlina White Story. The film directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall is based on the true story of the kidnapping of Carlina White, who was abducted as an infant by Ann Pettway from a New York hospital and solved her own kidnapping and reunited with her biological parents 23 years later. The movie’s cast includes Aunjanue Ellis (The Help), Keke Palmer, Sherri Shepherd and Roger Cross. Craig Piligian, Mary Martin and Alan Gasmer are executive producing the Pilgrim Studios production. Elizabeth Hunter (Jumping the Broom) has written the script.
Lifetime’s ‘Liz & Dick’ to Feature Music by Lee Holdridge
Lee Holdridge has recently scored the Lifetime original movie Liz & Dick. The film center on the nearly 25-year relationship between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, to whom she was married two separate times. Lindsay Lohan is portraying Taylor and Grant Bowler is playing Burton. Creed Bratton co-stars as studio chief Darryl F. Zanuck and Theresa Russell, David Hunt and David Eigenberg are also starring in the film directed by Llyod Kramer (David and Lisa). Christopher Monger (Temple Grandin) has written the script and Larry A. Thompson is executive producing the project. Liz & Dick is set to premiere this November on Lifetime.
Scott Starrett to Score FOX’s ‘The Mob Doctor’
Scott Starrett has been hired to score the new FOX drama The Mob Doctor. The show created by Josh Berman and Rob Wright stars Jordana Spiro as a doctor torn between the physician’s Hippocratic Oath and her own family’s mob ties. William Forsythe, Jaime Lee Kirchner, James Carpinello, Jesse Lee Soffer and Zach Gilford are co-starring. Michael Dinner (Sons of Anarchy, The Wonder Years) has directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Berman and Wright.
Anton Sanko to Score ‘Nurse 3-D’
Anton Sanko is scoring the upcoming horror thriller Nurse 3-D. The movie is directed by Doug Aarniokoski (The Day, Highlander Endgame) and stars Paz De La Huerta (Boardwalk Empire) as a nurse who uses her sexuality to indulge a sinister side that finds her punishing dishonest men. Katrina Bowden, Corbin Bleu and Judd Nelson are co-starring in the film. David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) has written the screenplay and Marc Bienstock is producing the Lionsgate Entertainment production. Sanko has most recently scored the horror thriller The Possession starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick for the studio. Nurse 3-D is currently in post-production and no release date has been announced yet.
