The full details of the soundtrack album for the live-action adaptation of DreamWorks Animation’s classic How to Train Your Dragon have been revealed. The album features the film’s music composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (The Bourne Identity, Wicked, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet, Don’t Worry Darling, Shrek, Bolt, X-Men: The Last Stand) based on his score from the 2010 animated feature. The soundtrack album will be released digitally tomorrow, June 13 by Back Lot Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Opening in select theaters this week is the drama Queer directed by Luca Guadagnin and starring Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Henrique Zaga, Lesley Manville and Jason Schwartzman. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Soul, Watchmen, Challengers, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Bones and All) have composed the film’s original score and also contributed an original song. The full details of the score album for the first part of the film adaptation of the stage musical Wicked have been revealed. The album features the movie’s original score composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet, Shrek, Don’t Worry Darling, Bolt, X-Men: The Last Stand) and Stephen Schwartz (The Prince of Egypt, Pippin, Pocahontas). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 6 by Republic Records & Verve Label Group and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A double vinyl edition will be coming out next year and is available to pre-order on Amazon. A first track (Arrival at Shiz University) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out below. Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original animated film That Christmas. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, United 93, Happy Feet, Rio, Bolt, Don’t Worry Darling). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 4 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. That Christmas is directed by Simon Otto and features the voices of Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, Alex Macqueen, Lolly Adefope, Katherine Parkinson, Sindhu Vee, India Brown, Bill Nighy and Rhys Darby. The Locksmith Animation production based on the trilogy of children’s books by Richard Curtis (who also co-wrote the screenplay) follows a group of townsfolk of Wellington-on-Sea as they experience the worst snowstorm in history that alters everyone’s Christmas plans, including Santa’s.

Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights) based on the hit musical created by Stephen Schwartz & Winnie Holzman and stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, as well as Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz. The fantasy adventure tells the untold story of the witches of Oz: Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin and Glinda, a popular young woman who has yet to discover her true heart.

The album features the movie’s original songs performed by Brittany Howard who also stars in the title role and other voice cast members. Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2019 animated sequel How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World directed by Dean DeBlois and starring Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, Kit Harrington and F. Murray Abraham. The album features the expanded original score from the third installment in DreamWorks Animation’s hit franchise composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet, Shrek, Migration, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Bolt, X-Men: The First Class, Don’t Worry Darling). The Deluxe Edition soundtrack is now available to order as a 2-CD set on the label’s official website and will also be released digitally on April 26 by Back Lot Music (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). The labels have previously released deluxe editions for the the 2010 original film and its 2014 sequel.
