Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s 2014 sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 directed by Dean DeBlois and starring Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig. The album features the film’s expanded original score composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (The Bourne Identity, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet, Bolt, X-Men: The Last Stand, Shrek, Chicken Run), including previously unreleased music. The 2-CD deluxe edition set, which is limited to 2,000 copies, is now available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples. A digital version will coming out on May 13 (click here to stream/download). The label has previously released a deluxe edition for the original How to Train Your Dragon movie in 2020. The original 2014 soundtrack album for the sequel is available from Back Lot Music. How to Train Your Dragon 2 is now available on VOD and Blu-ray/DVD.
