Matteo Zingales (The Hunter, Secrets & Lies) & Antony Partos (Animal Kingdom, The Rover) are reteaming with director Ramin Bahrani on the upcoming HBO original movie Fahrenheit 451. The film starring Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon, Sofia Boutella and Lilly Singh is based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel of the same name, depicting a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books. Bahrani (At Any Price, Goodbye Solo) also co-wrote the script with Amir Naderi (Vegas: Based on a True Story) and is executive producing the project with Jordan, Sarah Green (The Tree of Life, Mud, Loving, Frida), Alan Gasmer (Vikings) and Peter Jaysen (Fired Up!).

Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready Scoring HBO’s ‘Elvis Presley: The Searcher’
HBO announced today that Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher. The movie directed by Thom Zimny focuses on Elvis Presley the musical artist, taking the audience on a comprehensive creative journey from his childhood through the final 1976 Jungle Room recording sessions. The 3-hour film features more than 20 new, primary source interviews with session players, producers, engineers, directors and other artists who knew him or who were profoundly influenced by him.

Premiering tonight is the Fox holiday event A Christmas Story Live! starring Matthew Broderick, Andy Walken, Jane Krakowski, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ana Gasteyer, Ken Jeong and David Alan Grier. The television special’s music is composed by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman, Dear Evan Hansen) based on their work on the Broadway musical of the same title. Soundtrack for BBC’s ‘Gunpowder’ to Be Released
Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the BBC mini-series Gunpowder. The album features the original music from the historical thriller composed by Academy Award nominee Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) (Lion, In Dubious Battle, The Current War, The Boy). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 15. The download link will be added to this article within the next day. Gunpowder is created by Ronan Bennett & Daniel West and stars Kit Harington, Liv Tyler, Peter Mullan, Edward Holcroft, Shaun Dooley, Robert Emms, Derek Riddell and Mark Gatiss. The 3-parter follows British activist Guy Fawkes and a group of provincial English Catholics as they plan to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I in the early 17th century.
David Norland to Score HBO’s ‘My Dinner with Hervé’
David Norland is reteaming with director Sacha Gervasi on the upcoming HBO original movie My Dinner with Hervé. The film starring Peter Dinklage & Jamie Dornan centers on the unlikely friendship that evolves over one wild night in LA between a struggling journalist and actor Hervé Villechaize, the world’s most famous gun-toting dwarf, resulting in life-changing consequences for both. Andy Garcia, Mireille Enos, Oona Chaplin, Harriet Walter and David Strathairn are co-starring. Gervasi (Hitchcock) also wrote the teleplay based on a story by himself and Sean Macaulay.
Nicholas Britell to Score HBO’s ‘Succession’
Nicholas Britell is making his TV show scoring debut on the upcoming HBO original series Succession. The political drama is created by Jesse Armstrong (In the Loop, Four Lions) and stars Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Hiam Abbas, Alan Ruck, Rob Yang, Parker Sawvers, and Peter Friedman. The show is described as the saga of the Roys, a fictional American global-media family that is not only rich and powerful but also powerfully dysfunctional.
Evgueni & Sacha Galperine to Score Barry Levinson’s ‘Happy Valley’
Evgueni and Sacha Galperine are reteaming with Barry Levinson on the upcoming HBO original movie Happy Valley. The film stars Al Pacino as Joe Paterno, who, after becoming the winningest coach in college football history, is embroiled in Penn State’s Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. Riley Keough, Annie Parisse, Kathy Baker and Greg Grunberg are co-starring. Debora Cahn, John C. Richards (Nurse Betty) and David McKenna (American History X, Blow) wrote the script. Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning, Vietnam) is also executive producing the project with Jason Sosnoff (The Humbling), Tom Fontana (Oz, Borgia0, Edward Pressman (The Crow, American Psycho) & Linday Sloane and Rick Nicita.

Bruce Broughton (Silverado) has composed the show’s theme and score for the first episode and John Debney (The Passion of the Christ) and Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West) are scoring the following episodes. Also premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Deuce created by David Simon & George Pelecanos and starring James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Dominique Fishback, Emily Meade, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Chris Bauer, Chris Coy, Natalie Paul and Michael Rispoli. The show doesn’t feature an original score. Blake Leyh serves as the project’s music supervisor. The Deuce tells the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 70s through the mid 80s. The drama will air Sunday nights on HBO. Reel Gold Records will release the original song Just Getting Started from the HBO documentary If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast. The track is written by Academy Award winners Alan & Marilyn Bergman (Yentl, The Way We Were) and Dave Grusin (The Milagro Beanfield War, The Firm, On Golden Pond) and performed by Alan Bergman with Grusin & Band. The song will be released as a digital single on September 26, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label will also release the song Young at Heart performed by Dick Van Dyke from the film on the same day (click here to pre-order). If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast is produced and directed by Danny Gold and follows Carl Reiner as he tracks down several nonagenarians, including Mel Brooks, Dick Van Dyke, Norman Lear and Betty White who show that the later years can be the happiest and most rewarding.
