Republic Records has released the original song Just Look Up from Adam McKay’s Netflix original film Don’t Look Up. The track is performed by Ariana Grande & Kid Cudi and co-written by themselves, the movie’s composer Nicholas Britell and Taura Stinson. The song is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms (including Amazon). Check out the official lyric video after the jump. As previously reported, a full soundtrack album featuring Just Look Up, Britell’s original score and another original song performed by Bon Iver will be coming out next Friday, December 10.

Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Battle of the Sexes, Free State of Jones) is reteaming with Adam McKay on the HBO drama pilot Showtime. The pilot is directed by McKay, written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and stars Jason Clarke, John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Solomon Hughes, Gaby Hoffmann, DeVaughn Nixon, Molly Gordon, Rob Morgan, Spencer Garrett, Kirk Bovill, Delante Desouza and Hadley Robinson. The series is inspired by Jeff Pearlman’s book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s and centers on the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers and its management as they created one of sports’ most revered dynasties and a team that defined its era, both on and off the court.

Nicholas Britell is reuniting with Adam McKay on the upcoming biographical drama Backseat. The film is written and directed by McKay and stars Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, alongside Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Bill Pullman, Adam Bartley, Tyler Perry, Alison Pill and Lily Rabe. The movie chronicles Cheney’s rise to CEO of the multinational corporation Halliburton and finally becoming what some have called the most powerful U.S. vice president ever to hold office. The movie is based on Michael Lewis’ bestselling non-fiction book of the same title and tells the true story of the genius contrarian investors who, recognizing just how insane the housing bubble had become, figured out how to “short” the market prior to the financial collapse of 2008.
Andrew Feltenstein & John Nau to Score ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’
Andrew Feltenstein and John Nau have signed on to score and write songs for the upcoming comedy sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues. The film is directed by Adam McKay and stars Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Paul Rudd who reprise their characters from the original movie. They are joined by new cast members Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker and Meagan Good. Judd Apatow returns as a producer of the Gary Sanchez and Apatow Productions project. Feltenstein & Nau have previously scored Casa De Mi Padre and Bachelorette for Ferrell’s production company. Alex Wurman (March of the Penguins) scored the original 2004 film. Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set to be released on December 20, 2013 by Paramount Pictures.
